A total of 65 tentative vacancies have been announced for the post of Trainee – Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, exclusively for serving employees of AIESL. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Ex-Servicemen is applicable as per Government of India guidelines. The number of vacancies may vary depending upon Company requirements. A panel of suitable candidates will also be formed for future requirements.

Eligibility Criteria :

This is an internal employment notice. Only serving employees of AIESL who meet all the prescribed eligibility conditions as on 01-05-2026 are eligible to apply.

Candidates who had applied against previous notifications for Trainee – AME are required to apply afresh through the prescribed online application form.

Eligibility (Mandatory) Only serving employees of AIESL are eligible. External / open market candidates are NOT eligible to apply.
DGCA Qualification (Mandatory) Must have passed all B1 or B2 Modules of DGCA knowledge examinations; OR hold a B1 DGCA License or B2 DGCA License within AIESL capability. RT License would be preferred.
Minimum Aviation Experience Minimum 5 years of current practical maintenance experience on operating aircraft as prescribed under CAR 66, out of which at least 2 years must be in the services of AIESL.
Parent Vertical Candidates will remain in their parent vertical (AIESL / AIX / AASL) and continue with the same type of employment arrangement (Permanent / Fixed Term) after acquiring requisite qualification and absorption in the respective cadre.
Fresh Application Requirement Candidates who had applied against any previous AIESL notification for Trainee AME must apply afresh – prior applications will not be considered.

 

 Age Limit :

Upper age limit is 52 years as on 01-05-2026. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Ex-Servicemen categories.

Application Fee :

The notification does not mention any application fee for this internal recruitment. Candidates should refer to the official notification / Google Form on the AIESL website for any updates before applying.

 

Selection Process :

Selection will be based on assessment of eligibility criteria by a committee constituted for the purpose. No separate written examination has been announced. Final induction into the Trainee AME role is subject to successful completion of training, acquisition of DGCA License, and fulfilment of bond conditions.

Stage 1 – Eligibility Assessment by Committee

Candidates found suitable after assessment of the prescribed eligibility criteria by the duly constituted committee shall be considered for the post. Selected candidates will be designated as Trainee – Aircraft Maintenance Engineer till such time they acquire the DGCA license or equivalent qualification within AIESL capability.

Stage 2 – Training and Bond Execution

Selected candidates will be imparted DGCA approved Type Rated B1/B2 training as per Company requirement. Candidates must execute a training bond as per the training policy before commencement of type training. On successful completion of approved training and after fulfilling the experience requirement, candidates must obtain the DGCA License or equivalent qualification. If a candidate fails to acquire the qualification within 4 years of joining as Trainee AME and being offered the type course, they will be reverted to their previous position and the bond amount will be recovered.

Stage 3 – Absorption and Career Progression

On acquiring the DGCA License in the appropriate category and on completion of the training period, the candidate will be placed in the applicable scale of pay. Allocation to Group A or Group B will be done only after all mandatory trainings are completed, depending on individual performance during training and existing vacancies in the respective group. Career progression will follow applicable AIESL policy as per the respective cadre (Permanent/FTE/AIXL/AASL).

Who should NOT apply ?

External candidates from the open market – this is strictly an internal employment notice and only serving employees of AIESL are eligible to apply.

Serving employees who do not have at least 2 years of service specifically within AIESL – total aviation experience of 5 years is required, with minimum 2 years mandatorily in AIESL.

Candidates above 52 years of age as on 01-05-2026, except those eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India guidelines.

Candidates who have not passed all B1 or B2 Modules of DGCA knowledge examinations and do not hold a B1 or B2 DGCA License within AIESL capability – DGCA qualification is a hard eligibility condition.

Candidates who are unwilling to execute the mandatory indemnity bond of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs) and serve AIESL for a minimum of 5 years from the date of joining or till the age of superannuation, whichever is earlier – no pro-rata waiver or partial relaxation is permitted.

Candidates unwilling to execute a separate Type Training Bond prior to commencement of Type Training as per Company training policy.

Candidates not willing to be posted to any AIESL station / region as per Company requirement during training and after absorption.

Candidates who had applied against previous AIESL notifications for Trainee – AME but have not applied afresh – prior applications will not be considered and fresh application is mandatory.

Only serving employees of AIESL who meet the prescribed qualifications as of 01-05-2026 may apply. Applications must be submitted online through the Google Form link available on the AIESL website. No other mode of application will be accepted. Candidates who had applied against any previous notification for Trainee AME must apply afresh. Applications received after the last date (1700 hours, 26-05-2026) will be rejected without any reference.

Important Instructions :

THIS IS AN INTERNAL STAFF EMPLOYMENT NOTICE. Only serving employees of AIESL are eligible. External/open market candidates must not apply.

Selected candidates will be designated as Trainee – Aircraft Maintenance Engineer till such time they acquire the DGCA License or equivalent qualification. They will continue to perform existing duties/functions and any other duties assigned in their present cadre during the training period.

The existing pay of selected candidates will be protected during the period of training. If a trainee is already drawing a higher salary, salary protection will be provided as per AIESL Board approved policy.

Selected candidates must execute a mandatory indemnity bond of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs) for serving AIESL for a minimum of 5 years from the date of joining or till superannuation/retirement, whichever is earlier. The bond amount is treated as liquidated damages in the event of premature resignation/separation and no pro-rata relaxation, partial waiver, or proportional deduction for early exit shall be permitted.

In addition to the service bond, upon nomination for Type Training, trainees must execute a separate Type Training Bond prior to commencement of training as per Company training policy.

If a candidate fails to acquire the DGCA qualification within 4 years of joining as Trainee AME and being offered the type course, they will be reverted to their previous position and the bond amount will be recovered.

Allocation to Group A or Group B will be done only after all mandatory trainings are completed, based on individual performance during training and existing vacancies in the respective group.

The employment status (Permanent/FTE) and parent vertical (AIESL/AIX/AASL) of the candidate will remain unchanged after acquisition of requisite qualification and absorption into the respective cadre. AASL candidates will remain in AASL; AIXL candidates will remain in AIXL, etc.

Candidates can be posted to any AIESL station/region during training and subsequently at any base depending on Company requirement. No preference of posting location is guaranteed.
