iii) National Eligibility Test(NET) conducted by UGC/ICAR/CSIR or a similar accredited State Eligibility Test (SLET/SEТ).

A candidate who has been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 read with amendments from time to time is exempted from NET/SLET/SEТ.

Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Byelaws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist or equivalent subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions :-

a. The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode only;

b. The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;

c. An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;

d. The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, in conferences /seminars sponsored/ funded/ supported by the UGC/ICSSR/CSIR/ICAR or any Government agency /PSU’s (a) to (e) above are to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.

iv) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for the candidates in such disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the ICAR, UGC and CSIR.

OR

Eligibility B :

The Ph.D degree of the candidate should be from a foreign University/Institute with a ranking
among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following:

i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)

ii) The Times Higher Education (THE)

iii) The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

Minimum Desirable Skills & Experience :

1. Knowledge : Should posses’ adequate knowledge of basic theoretical and applied aspects of the discipline as evidenced by outstanding academic performance indicators.

2. Communication : should be an effective communicator for instructional responsibilities of academic courses as evidenced by teaching and extracurricular assignments.

3. Teaching : Should be well versed with the NEP-2020 and its application to Agricultural Education. Should have outstanding skills of student engagement and mentoring towards building a competent human resource pool. Trained in modern teaching pedagogies and content development.

4. Scholarly output : Should possess strong science communication skills evidenced by high impact publications in reputed scientific journals, higher h and 1-10 index.

General Terms & Conditions :

• The engagement shall be purely temporary on academic arrangement basis till the culmination of the current Academic Year/Semester (Whatever applicable)
or till the post is filled up on regular basis, whichever is earlier.

• Monthly remuneration shall be paid to the selected candidates as per the University Order No. 262(Est.) of 2025 dated 02.05.2025, from the date of
his/her physically joining the place of posting till the date of completion of the terms of engagement.

• The performance shall be evaluated periodically and in case of unsatisfactory or under performance, the contractual engagement shall be terminated without
any notice.

• The engaged person shall have no right to claim extension or regular appointment or absorption in SKUAST-k service merely on the basis of having
rendered contractual service on academic arrangement basis.

• The candidate must not be on rolls in any Institute/University/Department for pursuit of any academic Degree programme within or outside the Country or
must not be in employment in any government or non-government organization during the currency of the engagement as Contractual/Guest-Lecturer and if
found so, the engagement shall automatically stands cancelled and appropriate action as warranted under rules shall be initiated.

• The University reserves the right to defer and/or cancel the Walk-in-Interview.

• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview.

• The number of posts indicated here-in-above are subject to increase/decrease at the sole discretion of the University.

• Candidates are advised to visit University official website www.skuastkashmir.ac.in regularly for any update in their own interest.

• Candidates are advised to report at the Venue of the Interview at least one hour before on the date of the Interview for submission of
application/document verification.
