JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 9th June 2026
From 07-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 08-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to breakdown of an HMV at Kishtwari Pather.
Passengers/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to apprehension of shooting stones/landslides, movement of nomads towards the valley, and ongoing construction work between Nashri and Banihal which may cause inconvenience.
NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs/Passenger/HMVs/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) as per following discipline:
LMVs: Both sides
HMVs: Regulated movement
Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline; overtaking and wrong-lane driving will cause congestion.
Traffic Control Units (TCUs) at Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban for road conditions.
SFs Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW. Movement shall be regulated after confirmation of status from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
As per orders of the SDM Chhatroo:
Road is open subject to fair weather and good condition.
LMVs/Passenger vehicles shall be allowed from both sides (Kishtwar–Srinagar and vice versa).
Vehicles shall be allowed to move:
From Pirana and Daksum between 0600 hrs to 1000 hrs
HMVs with seating capacity up to 30 passengers only allowed.
From Srinagar towards Kishtwar: vehicles allowed between 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs
No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timings.
TCUs at Jammu, Ramban, and Srinagar will coordinate accordingly.
SSG ROAD (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri)
As per orders of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir:
Subject to fair weather and road condition, LMVs shall be allowed from both sides.
Movement allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil and vice versa.
Vehicles shall be allowed only after receiving green signal from road maintenance agencies.
No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timings.
Traffic will be managed in a coordinated manner for safe passage.
Mughal Road
As per orders of District Magistrate Shopian:
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, LMVs and passenger vehicles shall be allowed.
HMVs up to six tyres only permitted.
Vehicles shall be allowed from both sides between:
Shopian → Poonch
Poonch → Shopian
No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timings.
