JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 12th June 2026

From 10-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 11-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to a single-lane condition between Nagdak and Kishwtari Pathar, in addition to the breakdown of two HMV vehicles in the Ramban and Banihal areas.

Traffic Restrictions

District Magistrate Ramban, vide Order No. ADMR/542-54 dated 10-06-2026, has imposed restrictions on NH-44 for safety and maintenance works. Accordingly:

Traffic will remain suspended between Nashri and Navyug Tunnel during the specified maintenance period.

No movement of any kind of vehicle shall be allowed after 1700 hrs from:

Udhampur towards Ramban, Banihal and Srinagar

Dumphari towards Ramban, Banihal and Srinagar

No vehicle shall be allowed to move after 2000 hrs from Qazigund towards Banihal, Ramban and Udhampur.

Passengers, LMVs and private cars are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during daytime. Night travel should also be avoided due to apprehension of shooting stones, landslides, movement of nomadic herds and ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal.

NH-44 Traffic Movement

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs (Passenger/Private Cars/HMVs carrying perishable goods) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 via the designated route.

Commuters are advised to:

  • Follow lane discipline
  • Avoid overtaking
  • Maintain safe driving practices to prevent congestion

The Traffic Control Unit (TCU) Ramban will regulate traffic according to road conditions.

SF Convoy Movement

Subject to fair weather and road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NH-44. Their movement will be coordinated as per the status of NH-44 communicated by TCU Ramban.

Kashmir to Jammu Movement on NH-44

Passenger and private vehicles will be allowed from Qazigund towards Jammu after road clearance and subject to traffic regulation by authorities. Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) carrying essential commodities and perishable goods may also be permitted as per traffic management requirements.

SSG Road

As per orders of the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, subject to fair weather and road conditions:

LMVs shall be allowed from both sides on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road.

HMVs may be permitted after assessment of road conditions by traffic authorities.

Mughal Road

Subject to fair weather and road conditions:

LMVs shall be allowed on Mughal Road from both directions.

No heavy vehicles shall be allowed on the route.

Traffic will be regulated by the concerned authorities.
