Traffic Plan & Advisory for 16-06-2026
NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway)
From 14-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 15-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, along with the breakdown of 02 HMVs at Hingni and Kela Morh.
The District Magistrate Ramban, vide order No. ADMR/542-54 dated 10-06-2026, has granted permission to NHAI for relaying works (execution of bituminous works) during night hours on 12th, 14th and 16th June 2026 at various locations, including the critical location at Nachiana on NH-44 (Jammu-Srinagar NHW).
Accordingly, traffic will remain suspended between Nashri and Navyug Tunnel during the intervening night of:

🚫 Vehicle Restrictions
No movement of any kind of vehicle will be allowed after 1700 hrs from Udhampur towards Ramban, Banihal and Srinagar.
No vehicle will be allowed after 2000 hrs from Qazigund towards Banihal, Ramban, Udhampur and Jammu.
Advisory for Commuters
Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer travelling on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during daytime.
Night travel should be avoided due to:
Possibility of shooting stones
Landslides
Ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal
NH-44 Traffic Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:

Passenger vehicles
Private cars
HMVs (Goods Carriers)
shall be allowed to ply from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NH-44:

➡️ Srinagar towards Jammu
Commuters are advised to:
Follow lane discipline
Avoid overtaking
Avoid wrong-lane driving to prevent congestion
Traffic Control Units (TCU) Jammu/Srinagar will coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road conditions.
Security Forces Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, security forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NH-44:
➡️ Jammu towards Srinagar
➡️ Srinagar towards Jammu
Movement will be planned after confirmation of NH-44 status from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, and after receiving clearance from road maintenance agencies (NHIDCL):

Movement allowed from:
Kishtwar towards Srinagar
Srinagar towards Kishtwar
Timing :
⏰ 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs
HMVs :
HMVs up to six tyres
HPSVs (up to 30 passenger capacity)
shall be allowed from Kishtwar towards Srinagar during the same timings.
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timing.
SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road)
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
LMVs will be allowed on both sides of the Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road:
Srinagar towards Kargil
Kargil towards Srinagar
Vehicles will move after receiving clearance from road maintenance agencies.
Timing :
Sonamarg towards Kargil: 1200 hrs to 1700 hrs
No vehicle movement after 1700 hrs
Advisory :
Motorists are advised to carry and use anti-skid chains for better grip on slippery roads.
TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform commuters about cut-off timings.
Security Forces convoy movement on SSG Road shall be planned in a manner that civilian traffic is not disturbed.
Mughal Road
