JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 21th June 2026
Traffic Movement Overview
From 19-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 20-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwari Path.
General Advisory
Passengers/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime.
Night travel should be avoided due to apprehension of shooting stones/landslides and ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal, which may cause inconvenience to commuters.
NH-44 (National Highway-44)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs (Passenger/HPVs/Private Cars) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) (via Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa).
Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline.
Overtaking, wrong, and rash driving will cause congestion.
TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road conditions.
SFs Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) (via Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa).
They shall move after confirmation from TCU Ramban.
zKishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
As per order issued by SDM Chatroo, vide No. SDM/C/2026-27/270-78 dated 24-05-2026 and SDM Kokernag, vide No. SDM/KNG/26-27/286 dated 25-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road condition:
After green signal from Road Maintenance Agencies (NHIDCL), LMVs (Passenger/Private Cars) shall be allowed to ply from both sides via Kishtwar towards Srinagar and vice-versa on Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag road.
These vehicles shall be allowed to move from PP Parana and Daksum between 0800 hrs and 1600 hrs.
However, HMVs up to six tyres and HPSVs (Seating capacity up to 25 passengers only) shall be allowed to ply from Srinagar towards Kishtwar and these vehicles shall be allowed to move from Daksum between 0800 hrs and 1600 hrs.
No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing.
TCU Jammu/Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about cut-off timings.
SSG Road
As per order issued by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, vide No. DivCom/Dev/100/2026/4392-4410 dated 14-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
LMVs shall be allowed to ply from both sides on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari road (i.e., from Srinagar towards Kargil and vice-versa).
These vehicles shall be allowed to move from Sonamarg towards Kargil and from Minamarg towards Srinagar only after receiving green signal from Road Maintenance Agencies.
These vehicles shall be allowed to move from Minamarg towards Srinagar between 1200 hrs and 1700 hrs, and no vehicle shall be allowed after 1700 hrs.
Motorists and PCR Kargil are advised not to ply on SSG road without confirmation.
TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about cut-off timing.
SFs convoy movement on the SSG road shall plan their movement so that civil traffic movement is not disrupted.
Mughal Road
As per orders issued by:
District Magistrate Shopian, vide No. DMS/ADM-PS/25-26278-85 dated 22-04-2026, and
District Magistrate Poonch, vide No. DMJ/37/60 dated 22-04-2026
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
Vehicular movement (LMVs) shall be allowed from both sides (i.e., from Shopian towards Poonch and vice-versa).
These vehicles shall be allowed from Chandimarh (Bafliaz) towards Shopian between 0900 hrs and 1700 hrs, and from Heerpora (Shopian) towards Poonch between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs after obtaining clearance from Road Maintenance Agency (GREF).
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timings.
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding cut-off timings.
