JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 24th June 2026
From 22-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 23-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to adverse conditions between Magerkot and Kishtwar Pather, along with the breakdown of 02 HMVs at Dagdol and Nachlana.
Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer travelling on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal, which may cause inconvenience to commuters.
NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions:
LMVs, Passenger Vehicles, Private Cars and HMVs (Good Carriers) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44).
Vehicles will be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.
Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline.
Overtaking and wrong-lane driving may cause congestion.
TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding movement.
Security Forces Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44).
Movement will be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.
Vehicles shall move after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
After receiving clearance from road maintenance agencies (NHIDCL), LMVs, Passenger Vehicles and Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides on the Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag road.
Vehicles will be allowed from:
Kishtwar towards Srinagar
Srinagar towards Kishtwar
Timings :
Vehicles from PP Paddar towards Daksum will be allowed between 06:00 hrs and 16:00 hrs.
Heavy Vehicles :
HMVs up to six tyres and HPSVs (seating capacity up to 30 passengers only) shall be allowed:
From Kishtwar towards Srinagar
Between 06:00 hrs and 16:00 hrs
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timing.
TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
SSG Road
As per order issued by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir vide No. DivCom/Dev/100/2026/4392-4410 dated 14-05-2026:
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
LMVs shall be allowed from both sides on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road:
Srinagar towards Kargil
Kargil towards Srinagar
Vehicles shall be allowed:
From Sonamarg towards Kargil
From Minamarg towards Srinagar
Only after receiving clearance from road maintenance agencies.
Timing:
HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil between 12:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs.
No vehicle shall be allowed after 17:00 hrs.
Motorists are advised to carry and use anti-skid chains to gain more grip on slippery roads.
TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil shall inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
Security Forces convoy movement on SSG Road shall be planned in such a manner that civil traffic movement is not disturbed.
Mughal Road
As per orders issued by:

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
Vehicular movement of LMVs followed by HMVs up to six tyres only shall be allowed on Mughal Road from both sides.
Route:
Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa
Timings:
From Chandimarh (Bufliaz) towards Shopian:
09:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs
From Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch:
10:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs
Movement will be allowed after obtaining clearance from the road maintenance agency (GREF).
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timing.
