Common Mistakes to Avoid
These pitfalls are frequently responsible for application rejections – check each before dispatch:
Not attaching the DD/BC – Applications without the prescribed fee from paying categories are summarily rejected with no appeal.
Submitting multiple applications under different categories – All such applications will be rejected outright.
Requesting to add experience after submission – Only experience with certificates submitted with the original application is considered for shortlisting.
Using the wrong DD format – Online transfers, UPI, or cheques other than DD/Banker’s Cheque are not accepted.
Not superscribing the envelope – Failure to write the prescribed text on the cover may result in the application being overlooked.
Unsigned application form – Unsigned or incomplete forms are liable to rejection without notice.
Sending experience certificates without duration/pay details – Certificates must clearly state start date, end date, nature of duties, and pay. Vague letters will not be counted.
Listing fewer than 10 state preferences – The notification specifically advises candidates to fill at least 10 options.
Tampered or altered documents – Any forgery or alteration will lead to cancellation and potential legal action.
Relying on postal speed alone – Send applications well in advance; postal delays are the applicant’s responsibility.
