JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 26th June 2026
From 24-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 25-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single lane traffic conditions between Ramban and Banihal due to the breakdown of an HMV at Panthyal.
Passengers/LV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal which may cause inconvenience to commuters.
NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs, Passenger Vehicles, Private Cars and HMVs (Good Carrier) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.
Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, avoid overtaking and wrong lane driving, which may cause congestion.
TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban for regulating traffic movement as per road conditions.
SF Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Force vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44):
From Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa.
They shall move after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
As per orders issued by SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/CH/2026-27/78 dated 24-06-2026 and SDM Kishtwar vide No. SDM/K/2026-27/26 dated 25-06-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
LMVs/PVs shall be allowed to move on Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag road from Kishtwar towards Srinagar and vice versa.
The vehicles shall be allowed to move from PP Parana and Daksum between 0800 hrs and 1600 hrs.
However, HMVs (up to 30 passenger seating capacity only) shall be allowed from Kishtwar towards Srinagar and vice versa.
These vehicles shall be allowed to move from PP Parana between 0600 hrs and 1600 hrs.
No vehicle shall be allowed to cut overtaking.
TCU Jammu/Ramban/Srinagar shall communicate the latest traffic position to all concerned.
SG Road
As per orders issued by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir vide No. DivCom/Dev/100/2026/439-4410 dated 14-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
LMVs shall be allowed to ply from both sides on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road i.e., from Srinagar towards Gumri and vice versa.
Vehicles shall be allowed to move from Sonamarg towards Kargil and from Kargil towards Sonamarg only after receiving a green signal from road maintenance agencies.
Movement shall continue up to 1300 hrs.
However, HMVs shall be allowed to move from Sonamarg towards Kargil between 1200 hrs and 1700 hrs.
No vehicle shall be allowed to carry and use chains except during snowfall/ice conditions.
TCU Sonamarg shall coordinate with TCU Kargil regarding traffic regulation.
SF convoy movement on SSG road shall be regulated in such a manner that civil traffic is not disturbed.
Mughal Road
As per orders issued by the District Magistrate, Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM-PS/25/25-276 dated 22-04-2026 and the District Magistrate, Poonch vide No. DMP/PS/71 dated 22-04-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
Vehicular movement (LMVs, including private vehicles only) shall be allowed on Mughal Road from both sides.
Traffic from Shopian towards Poonch shall be allowed between 0900 hrs and 1700 hrs.
Traffic from Poonch towards Shopian shall be allowed between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs.
Vehicles shall be allowed after obtaining clearance from the road maintenance agency (R&B).
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timings.
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall coordinate with concerned TCU for smooth regulation of traffic.
