JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 27th June 2026

From 25-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 26-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, along with the breakdown of an HMV at Kela Morh.

Passengers/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NH during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Garihal, which may cause inconvenience to commuters.

NH-44 (NHW)

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions:

LMVs, Passenger Vehicles, Private Cars and HMVs (Good Carrier) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44), i.e., from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.

Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline.

Overtaking and wrong lane driving may cause congestion.

TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road conditions.

SFs Convoy Movement

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:

Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44), i.e., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.

They shall move only after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244

As per orders issued by:

SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/AKNG/26-27/206 dated 25-05-2026

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions and after receiving a green signal from road maintenance agencies (NHIDCL):

LMVs, Passenger Vehicles and Private Cars shall be allowed to ply from both sides on Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag Road (Kishtwar towards Srinagar and vice-versa).

These vehicles shall be allowed to move from PP Parana and Daksum between 0800 hrs and 1600 hrs.

HMVs up to six tyres and HPSVs (seating capacity up to 30 passengers only) shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Kishtwar.

These vehicles shall be allowed to move from Daksum between 0800 hrs and 1600 hrs.

No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timing.

TCU Jammu/Ramban and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding the cut-off timing.

SSG ROAD

As per order issued by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir vide No. Div-Com/Dev/100/2026/4202-4410 dated 14-06-2026:

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:

LMVs shall be allowed to ply from both sides on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road, i.e., Srinagar towards Kargil and vice-versa.

Vehicles shall be allowed:

From Sonamarg towards Kargil

From Minamarg towards Srinagar

Only after receiving a green signal from road maintenance agencies.

Movement will be allowed up to 1300 hrs.

HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg towards Srinagar between 1200 hrs and 1700 hrs.

No vehicle shall be allowed after 1700 hrs.

Motorists are advised to carry and use anti-skid chains for better grip on slippery roads.

TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.

Security Forces convoy movement on the SSG Road shall be planned in such a manner that civil traffic is not disturbed.

Mughal Road

As per orders issued by:

District Magistrate Poonch vide No. DMP/J/376-01 dated 22-04-2026

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:

Vehicular movement (LMVs followed by HMVs up to six tyres only) shall be allowed on Mughal Road from both sides:

Poonch towards Shopian

Shopian towards Poonch

Movement timings:

From Chandimarh (Buffliaz) towards Shopian: 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs

From Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch: 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs

Vehicles will be allowed after obtaining clearance from the road maintenance agency (GREF).

No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timings.

TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding the cut-off timings.
