JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 28th June 2026
From 26-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 27-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to the following reasons:
The continuous breakdown of 02 HMVs between Ramban and Banihal.
LMV operators are advised to plan their journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during daytime only.
Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal.
Commuters are advised to follow traffic discipline and adhere to lane driving rules.
NH-44 (NHW)
Due to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs, Passenger/HCVs/Private Cars/HMVs (Good Carrier) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44):
Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa.
Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline.
Overtaking shall be avoided to prevent traffic congestion.
TCU Ramban will regulate the traffic flow.
SFCs Convoy Movement
Due to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Force Vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) as per convoy movement.
They shall move after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag NH-244
As per the order issued by the SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/C/2026-27/708-79 dated 24-05-2026 and District Magistrate Kishtwar vide No. DMK/NG/26-27/296 dated 25-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
Passenger vehicles and LMVs shall be allowed from both sides:
Kishtwar towards Sinthan and Anantnag.
Anantnag towards Sinthan and Kishtwar.
LMVs/Passenger Cars shall be allowed from both sides towards:
Kishtwar via Sinthan
Anantnag towards Sinthan
Vehicles shall move after confirming the status of the road from DTCU Kishtwar.
HMVs and LMVs shall be allowed from both sides up to Panthyal towards Srinagar and vice versa.
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timing:
TCU Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
SSG ROAD
As per the order issued by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir vide No. DivCom/Dev/100/2026/4392-4410 dated 24-06-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
LMVs shall be allowed to ply from both directions:
Srinagar to Sonamarg-Gumri Road.
Sonamarg-Gumri Road to Srinagar.
Security Force vehicles shall be allowed from:
Sonamarg towards Kargil.
Kargil towards Sonamarg.
The movement shall be regulated from Sonamarg towards Kargil and from Minamarg towards Sonamarg.
HMVs shall be allowed up to Sonamarg towards Kargil between 1300 hrs to 1700 hrs.
However, HMVs shall not be allowed to move from Sonamarg towards Kargil between 1200 hrs and 1700 hrs.
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timing.
Traffic control units shall inform all concerned regarding cut-off timings.
SSG Road shall remain open for smooth traffic movement.
Mughal Road
As per the orders issued by the District Magistrate Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM-PS/25-26/2785 dated 24-06-2026 and the District Magistrate Poonch vide No. DM/376-01/31 dated 22-04-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
Vehicular movement of LMVs followed by HMVs up to six tyres shall be allowed on Mughal Road from both sides:
Poonch towards Shopian and vice versa
These vehicles shall be allowed:
From Chandimarh (Buffliaz) towards Shopian
From Shopian towards Chandimarh (Buffliaz)
Timing:
0900 hrs to 1700 hrs
Clearance from road maintenance agency (GREF/IO) shall be obtained before cut-off timing.
Traffic Control Units of Poonch and Shopian shall inform all concerned regarding the cut-off timings.
