Eligibility Criteria :

Age Limit – IOCL Apprentice 2026
Candidates wondering about the age limit for the IOCL Apprentice 2026 can note that the minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 24 years as on 30 June 2026 for General/EWS candidates. Age will be verified only through the Matriculation (Class X) certificate issued by the Board of Secondary  Education. Relaxations in the upper age limit are as follows: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC(NCL) candidates get 3 years, and PwBD candidates get 10 years irrespective of category.

Additional Eligibility Conditions
Candidates must not have completed 5 years after acquiring the prescribed qualification as on 30 June 2026. Engineering Graduate or Diploma holder candidates who have 1 or more years of  job experience after qualifying are not eligible. A candidate with B.Sc. (Physics, Maths, Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry) may apply for only one code among 101, 103, or 108. A candidate with B.Com may apply for only one code among 108 or 109. Candidates applying for more than one trade/discipline will be summarily rejected. PwBD candidates may apply only against identified seats under Codes 102, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, and 111
Application Fee :
The IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 notification does not mention any application fee for any category. Candidates can apply online through the NAPS/NATS portals and the Microsoft Forms link without any fee payment.

Selection Process
There is no written test for the IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026. Selection for all four refinery units is entirely merit-based, with the merit list prepared on the basis of aggregate percentage of marks in the prescribed qualifying examination. Candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time will be given preference over those applying for a second time.
Merit List Preparation:Â Candidates are ranked in descending order of percentage of marks in the prescribed qualification (aggregate of all years/semesters).
Tie-breaking:Â In case of a tie in percentage, the candidate senior by age (earlier date of birth) is ranked higher. If date of birth is also the same, the candidate with a higher percentage in Matriculation is ranked higher.
Shortlisting for Document Verification: Candidates are shortlisted based on merit and available seats. Tentative date of publication of shortlist is 05 August 2026.
Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must appear in person with original documents. Tentatively scheduled from 11 August 2026 to 18 August 2026.
Pre-Engagement Medical Examination:Â Candidates must pass a medical fitness test as prescribed under the Apprentices Act. Only candidates declared medically fit will proceed.
Offer of Engagement:Â Candidates whose documents and medical fitness are found in order will receive a formal engagement offer.
Stipend / Salary 2026
The stipend for IOCL Apprentice 2026 will be paid as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 and Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended) along with Corporation’s guidelines. The official notification does not mention a specific monthly stipend amount. Apprentices will not receive HRA or Company accommodation. They will, however, receive accident insurance coverage and safety equipment (safety shoes and helmet) for selected trades.

Candidates shortlisted for document verification in the IOCL Refinery Apprentice  Recruitment 2026 must bring originals and self-attested copies of all required documents. SC/ST/PwBD candidates will be reimbursed single second-class railway fare for attending document verification, provided the distance is not less than 30 km.

Log in to the NAPS/NATS portal using your User ID/Email ID and apply for the apprenticeship opportunity under the applicable refinery’s Establishment ID.
After successfully applying on NAPS/NATS, go back to www.iocl.com and click on the Microsoft Forms link for your refinery unit.
Submit the additional information form with the same Enrolment No./Student ID/Registration No. used in Step I.

Common Mistakes to Avoid in IOCL Apprentice Apply Online 2026
Many candidates make easily avoidable errors while applying for the IOCL Apprentice Vacancy 2026 that result in summary rejection. The following points are based on common patterns in similar PSU apprenticeship  recruitment drives and are not derived from the official notification.
Completing only Step I or only Step II:Â Both NAPS/NATS portal application and Microsoft Forms submission are mandatory. Completing only one will make the application invalid.
