JKSSB 357 Public Works (R&B) Department Posts – Qualification Details
JKSSB has notified that the prescribed qualification for the advertised 357 posts has been given in Annexure-A of Advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2026. Candidates must ensure that they possess the required qualification for the post they are applying for.
The Board has made it clear that candidates shortlisted for Document Verification will have to produce original qualification certificates as proof of having acquired the prescribed educational qualification on or before the cut-off date i.e. 30.08.2026.
Candidates should note that their candidature will remain provisional until the genuineness and validity of their educational/technical qualification documents are verified by the appointing authority.
JKSSB has also stated that if a candidate claims an equivalent qualification, he/she must produce the relevant equivalence certificate from the competent authority whenever required by the Board. The final decision in such cases will rest with JKSSB as per rules.
The Board has further clarified that any candidate having qualification other than what is prescribed for the advertised post shall not be eligible, and such candidature will be summarily rejected at any stage of recruitment/selection.

JKSSB 357 PWD Posts – Reservation Rules Explained
JKSSB has said that reservation for the 357 Public Works (R&B) Department posts shall be applicable as per the category-wise breakup of vacancies conveyed by the indenting department and in accordance with the Jammu & Kashmir Reservation Act/Rules as amended from time to time.
Candidates applying under any reserved category must ensure that they possess a valid category certificate on the cut-off date and the same must be uploaded while submitting the online application form. No additional opportunity to upload the certificate later will be provided.
The Board has also warned that candidates applying under reserved categories with certificates in a format other than the prescribed format will not be entertained. If the valid certificate in the prescribed format is not obtained within the validity period of the advertisement notice or within the time allowed by the Board, the candidate shall be treated as not possessing a valid certificate and the application may be rejected.
JKSSB further stated that the candidature of reserved category candidates shall remain provisional till the genuineness and validity of the certificate is verified by the appointing authority. Any candidate found claiming reservation on the basis of an invalid, fake, forged or fraudulent certificate can be debarred from examinations conducted by JKSSB besides other legal action.

JKSSB has fixed the application fee at Rs 600 for candidates applying for the 357 Public Works (R&B) Department posts.
However, candidates belonging to SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS and PwBD categories will have to pay a reduced fee of Rs 500 only.
The fee can be paid only through online mode, including Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card. JKSSB has clarified that applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be rejected and no representation in this regard will be entertained.
The Board has also made it clear that the fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances and will not be adjusted against any other examination or selection. In case of any excess payment refund issue, candidates have been advised to contact JKSSB through the official grievance email only.

JKSSB 357 PWD Posts – Exam Scheme Released
JKSSB has notified that the selection for the 357 Public Works (R&B) Department posts will include a written examination consisting of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions.
The Board has stated that the question paper will be set in English language only. Candidates must also note that there will be negative marking in the examination. For every wrong answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
JKSSB has further informed that the syllabus for the posts will be notified separately and will be made available on the official website of the Board.

JKSSB has notified that the prescribed qualification for the UT Cadre posts of Warder in Home Department has been mentioned in Annexure-A of Advertisement Notification No. 05 of 2026. Candidates must ensure that they possess the required qualification before applying.
The Board has stated that candidates shortlisted for Document Verification will have to produce original qualification certificates proving that they had acquired the prescribed educational qualification on or before the cut-off date i.e. 25.08.2026.

If a valid certificate in the prescribed format is not obtained within the validity of the advertisement notice or within the time prescribed by the Board, the candidate shall be treated as not possessing a valid certificate and the application may be rejected.

JKSSB Warder Recruitment 2026 – Written Test, PST & PET Details
JKSSB has notified a three-stage examination scheme for the 288 Warder posts in Home Department.
1) Written Examination
The written test will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions. The paper will be set in English language only. JKSSB has also provided for negative marking, and one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
2) Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates will be shortlisted for the Physical Standard Test on the basis of the written test in the ratio of six times the total number of vacancies in each category. The prescribed physical standards are:
For Males:
- Minimum Height: 5’-6”
- Minimum Chest: 32”-33.5”
For Females:
- Minimum Height: 5’-2”
- Must be physically fit
3) Physical Endurance Test (PET)
Candidates who qualify the Physical Standard Test will have to undergo the Physical Endurance Test. The PET includes:
- Long Race for Males: 1600 meters in 6½ minutes
- Long Race for Females: 1000 meters in 6½ minutes
- Push-ups (Male candidates only): 20
- Shot Put (Female candidates only): 14½ feet in three attempts
JKSSB has clarified that the Physical Endurance Test will be of qualifying nature only and no marks will be allotted for it.
