JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 17th July 2026
Traffic Advisory
Date: 16-07-2026
Time Issued: 18:07 hrs
From 16-07-2026, 1800 hrs to 17-07-2026, 1800 hrs, NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway) remained blocked due to a landslide near T2/T5 Tunnel. Restoration work is underway by the concerned agencies.
After the cut-off timings, the inter-district movement of local commuters within the Jammu and Kashmir region shall be facilitated up to 2000 hrs in a regulated manner. Passengers and LMVs are advised to travel only after confirming the road status from the Traffic Control Unit.
Important Advisory
Local commuters travelling in private vehicles towards Srinagar are advised to use the old road via Jawahar Tunnel to avoid congestion at Lamber/Banihal.
Commuters travelling to Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Banihal and adjoining areas should also use the old road via Patnitop because movement through NH-44 may be slow due to heavy traffic.
Passenger LMVs and other light vehicles should travel during daylight hours only.
Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) should avoid unnecessary movement during the day and follow the instructions issued by the Traffic Police.
Goods carriers (HMVs) are advised to travel in a single lane and avoid overtaking.
Vehicles carrying perishable commodities will be given priority.
Movement of vehicles may be suspended if weather conditions deteriorate or due to landslides/road maintenance.
