Engagement of Assistant Professors on Academic Arrangement (AA) Basis for Academic Session 2026–27

The School of Architecture, Jammu (Approved by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi and affiliated with the University of Jammu, J&K) has invited applications from eligible candidates for the engagement of Assistant Professors on Academic Arrangement (AA) on a need basis for the Academic Session 2026–27.

1. Assistant Professor (Architecture)

Essential Qualification :

Candidates must possess either of the following qualifications:

Option 1

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent to B.Arch.

Master’s Degree in Architecture or allied subjects of Architecture.

Minimum 60% marks at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level.

One year of relevant professional experience.

Option 2

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent to B.Arch.

Minimum 60% marks.

Three years of relevant professional experience.

2. Assistant Professor (Structural Engineering)

Essential Qualification :

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering.

Minimum 60% marks at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level.

One year of relevant professional experience.

Selection Process

The Principal, School of Architecture, Jammu will conduct:

Personal Interview.

Written Test and/or Screening Test (if required).

Important Points

Candidates possessing NET/SLET/Ph.D. are exempted from the written/screening test.

Final selection will be made by the Selection Committee strictly on the basis of the merit list.

Selection Criteria

Architecture Stream (Total: 100 Marks)

Academic Record

B.Arch – 40 Marks (Pro-rata basis)

M.Arch – 20 Marks (Pro-rata basis)

Ph.D. – 10 Marks

Teaching/Professional Experience

Maximum 10 Marks

2 Marks for each academic session of not less than six months.

Only professional experience certificates issued/authenticated by a recognized University, Organization, or Government College will be accepted.

Interview

20 Marks

Total Marks: 100

Engineering Stream (Total: 100 Marks)

Academic Record

Graduation (B.E./B.Tech.) – 25 Marks (Pro-rata basis)

Post Graduation (M.E./M.Tech.) in Engineering – 30 Marks (Pro-rata basis)

Ph.D. – 15 Marks

 

Teaching/Industry Experience

Maximum 10 Marks

2 Marks for every academic session of not less than six months.

Experience certificates must be issued/authenticated by a recognized University, Organization, or Government College.

Interview

20 Marks

Total Marks: 100

 

Experience Requirement :

Professional experience shall mean:

Professional practice and/or teaching in the field of Architecture.

Experience will be counted from the date of registration with the Council or valid equivalent certification from the concerned authority.

Professional experience must be supported by:

Employer-issued experience certificates.

Appointment orders.

Completion certificates.

Sample drawings or project documents, wherever applicable.

 

Terms and Conditions

Engagement shall be governed by Government Order No. 137-JK (HE) of 2024 dated 01.03.2024, along with amendments issued from time to time.

Candidates engaged under Academic Arrangement must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

The engagement shall continue until:

The post is filled through the J&K Public Service Commission (JKPSC), or

A regular faculty member is posted against the position,
whichever occurs earlier.

Selected candidates must:

Maintain discipline, integrity, and good moral character during the engagement period.

Perform duties punctually and satisfactorily as per institutional standards and performance indicators.

Produce a Character Certificate issued by a Gazetted Officer.

Understand that the engagement will automatically terminate at the end of the academic session without prior notice.

Submit an Affidavit on a Non-Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 20, duly attested by a First Class Judicial Magistrate, confirming acceptance of all terms and conditions and acknowledging no claim for regular appointment or regularization.

If any information is found false, incomplete, forged, or tampered with, the candidature will be cancelled without notice and legal action may follow.

Candidates having marks in CGPA must submit an official CGPA-to-Percentage Conversion Certificate issued by the concerned university.

The engagement shall remain subject to the outcome of any pending court cases related to the recruitment.

Remuneration shall be paid as per the Government Orders in force.
