JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 18th July 2026

From 16-07-2026, 1700 hrs to 17-07-2026, 1700 hrs, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, LMVs/passenger/private cars will be allowed to travel on NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway) in both directions.

After the completion of maintenance work and movement of essential convoys within the Jammu and Kashmir region, load carriers carrying fresh/perishable commodities (fruits and vegetables) and empty vehicles of these commodities shall be allowed to ply from Navyug Tunnel on NH-44.

Local Commuters

Local commuters travelling in private vehicles towards Srinagar are advised to use the old road via Jawahar Tunnel to avoid congestion at Lower Munda (Qazigund).

Movement on Other Roads

Movement on Mughal Road, SSG Road, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar and Sinthan routes shall be allowed only after confirmation from the respective traffic control units regarding road condition.

Passenger LMVs are advised to travel during daylight hours only.

Avoid unnecessary travel during periods of bad weather.

Goods Carriers

Goods carriers carrying fresh/perishable commodities and essential supplies will be allowed subject to road condition and traffic regulation.

Fruit Growers / Load Carriers (HMVs)

Fruit growers/load carriers carrying fresh/perishable commodities from the Kashmir Valley towards Jammu are advised to load and park their vehicles at designated locations before the scheduled movement.

HMVs Operators

HMV operators are requested to ensure:

Vehicles are in good mechanical condition.

Traffic Plan & Advisory for NH-44 (17-07-2026)

Jammu → Srinagar (NH-44)

Passenger/Private Cars: Allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) towards Srinagar after confirmation of road condition.

HMVs (Load Carriers): Movement shall be regulated as per the traffic plan issued by Traffic Police.

Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026

Pilgrims are advised to follow the separate traffic advisory already issued for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

Cut-off Timing for LMVs at NAVYUG TUNNEL

To be released from:

Nagrota (Jammu): 0700 hrs to 1200 hrs

Jakheni (Udhampur): 0800 hrs to 1300 hrs

Qazigund (Kashmir side): 1100 hrs to 1700 hrs

No vehicle shall be allowed beyond the notified cut-off timings.

HMV / Load Carriers

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:

Load carriers carrying fresh fruits, vegetables and other perishable commodities will be given priority.

Empty vehicles returning after unloading will also be permitted.

Drivers must follow lane discipline and obey Traffic Police instructions.

Army / Security Movement

Movement of Army and security force convoys shall be regulated according to operational requirements. Civilian traffic may be temporarily halted whenever convoy movement is in progress.
