Big win for students: J’khand govt cancels JSSC exam, all tests held via TDPL since 2014
“Addressing all aspects of the issue, we have decided to cancel everything associated with TDPL—including the examinations conducted, the results published, the candidates selected or who participated, and all other activities carried out by TDPL.” news agency ANI quoted the CM as saying.
Accepting the demands of protesting students, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday announced the cancellation of the JSSC-CGL examination and ordered a comprehensive inquiry into irregularities in recruitment exams since 2014.
“Addressing all aspects of the issue, we have decided to cancel everything associated with TDPL—including the examinations conducted, the results published, the candidates selected or who participated, and all other activities carried out by TDPL.” news agency quoted the CM as saying.
Soren also said the government was likely to implement the Centre’s Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, which was passed by Parliament in July.
The amended law provides for stricter punishment for organised cheating and examination fraud, including imprisonment of up to 10 years and fines of up to Rs 10 crore. The CM said that a comprehensive inquiry will be conducted into all exams held since 2014.
