IOB Vacancy 2026 covers a total of 291 posts across Generalist and Specialist Officer cadres in JMGS I, MMGS II, and MMGS III. Post Code 01 (Manager – Branch Management) is the Generalist Officer post; all other posts are Specialist Officer posts. Eligibility (age, educational qualification, and post-qualification work experience) is assessed as on 01.08.2026 for all posts. Candidates must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India (subject to an eligibility certificate from the Government of India for the latter categories).

Age Limit
The minimum and maximum age for each post is listed in the eligibility table above (assessed as on 01.08.2026). Age relaxation for reserved categories is as follows:

Selected candidates will be placed in the following pay scales, with DA, HRA, CCA, and other allowances as per rules in force.

Specialist Officers recruited laterally in MMG Scale II and III are also eligible for Conveyance Expenses, Newspaper Cost, Telephone/Mobile Expenses, Residential Furniture, and Bank-owned or leased accommodation during probation, as per extant Bank guidelines.
Selected candidates must execute a Financial Service Indemnity Bond of ₹2,00,000 (JMGS I, minimum 3 years’ service) or ₹2,50,000 (MMGS II & III, minimum 3 years’ service).

Payment can be made online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, or BHIM/UPI. The fee, once paid, is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other recruitment process.
Selection Process
Selection is through an Online Examination followed by a Personal Interview.
For Post Code 01 (Manager – Branch Management): the Online Examination has 100 questions/100 marks in 2 hours, covering English Language (25Q, 30 minutes) and Professional Knowledge – Banking Law & Practice, Indian Economy & Financial System, Principles & Practices of Banking, Accounting & Financial Management (75Q, 90 minutes).
For all other posts: the Online Examination has 100 questions/100 marks in 2 hours, covering English Language (25Q, 30 minutes), General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry (25Q, 30 minutes), and Professional Knowledge, which varies post-wise (50Q, 60 minutes).
There is no minimum qualifying mark for General Awareness and English Language; candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks in Professional Knowledge.
Minimum qualifying marks in the Online Examination: 35% for unreserved candidates, 30% for reserved candidates.
1/4th of the marks allotted to a question is deducted for a wrong answer; there is no penalty for unattempted questions.
The Interview carries a maximum of 100 marks, assessed on Role-related Industry Exposure, Subject Knowledge, and Communication Skills. Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for unreserved, 45% for reserved candidates.
The final merit list is prepared with 80% weightage to the Online Examination and 20% weightage to the Interview.

Click “Register Online” and complete first-time registration.
Note the system-generated Registration Number and Password sent via e-mail and SMS.
Upload photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration as per the prescribed specifications.
Fill in all required details in the online application form carefully and click “Complete Registration.”
Pay the applicable Application Fee / Intimation Charges online (Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking/BHIM/UPI).
Take a printout of the submitted application form and the payment e-receipt for future reference.
Important Instructions
Applications can be submitted online only, from 29.08.2026 to 15.09.2026; no other mode will be accepted.
Candidates may apply for more than one post, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria for each.
If a candidate submits multiple applications for the same post, only the last submitted application will be considered.
Incomplete applications or those without supporting documents will be rejected outright.
OBC candidates must submit a non-creamy layer certificate valid as on the date of interview.
The Bank reserves the right to change, modify, cancel, or add to any of the eligibility or selection criteria.
Outstation SC/ST/PWBD candidates who are unemployed will be reimbursed second-class train fare by the shortest route, as per Government guidelines.
