10 Rescued, Including 6 Children, in Rajouri Amid Heavy Rain

Jammu, Sep 1: At least 10 people, including six children, were rescued after they were stranded due to a sudden rise in the water level of Jamola River amid heavy rains in Rajouri district on Tuesday, police said.

The rescue operation was jointly carried out by the police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in the Bhadoon area, a police spokesman said.

The spokesperson urged people to exercise extreme caution while venturing near rivers and other water bodies, particularly during sudden rise in water levels, and advised them to avoid such areas altogether during adverse weather conditions.–(PTI)
