Traffic Restrictions Announced in Srinagar Ahead of IFFJK Inauguration
Gupkar Road to Remain Restricted from 4 PM to 7 PM; Diversions Announced Around SKICC, Nehru Park
Srinagar, Sept 6 : Traffic Police has issued an advisory ahead of the inauguration of the first-ever International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJK) at SKICC Srinagar on September 7, 2026, with heavy traffic movement towards the venue expected after 4 PM.
SSP Traffic city Srinagar Aijaz Ahmad Bhat told news agency that, Gupkar Road will remain restricted for general traffic from 4 PM to 7 PM, with access limited to invitees, participants, VVIPs and event staff.
At Badyari Chowk/Brein Chowk, traffic towards SKICC–Nehru Park will be restricted, except for hotel guests and local residents. Other traffic heading towards Nishat will be diverted via Gupkar and Hazratbal, he said.
Traffic coming from the Nishat/Harwan side will also be diverted towards Hazratbal. The restrictions will remain in force from 4 PM to 7 PM or till completion of the inauguration function, he said.
Commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with Traffic Police to ensure smooth traffic management during the event, SSP Aijaz said. (JKNS)
