Big Traffic Changes in Jammu: Ring Road Diversions Announced
The Traffic Police Office, City Jammu has issued a traffic advisory in connection with the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET) for recruitment to the posts of Wild Life Guard/Inspector, FPF Guard, Social Forestry Worker, Field Assistant of Forest, Ecology and Environment Department.
The tests are scheduled from September 11 to September 13, 2026, from Marh Intersection on Ring Road up to Tawi Bridge on Ring Road, New Bye-Pass Road, Deharan and Domana Jammu.
Traffic diversions and restrictions will remain in force during the scheduled recruitment tests.
Traffic Diversions for September 11, 2026
Vehicles coming from Kot Bhalwal side via Ring Road towards Miran Sahib will use the single-lane road between Marh Intersection and Tawi Bridge to bypass the PET/PST test area.
Vehicles coming from Akhnoor side towards Miran Sahib will also use the same single-lane road to bypass the test area.
Vehicles coming from City South via Ring Road towards Akhnoor will use the designated single-lane stretch to bypass the PET/PST area.
Trucks travelling from Samba/Kathua towards Rajouri/Poonch will use the designated Ring Road route. Trucks coming from Rajouri/Poonch towards Samba/Kathua will follow the same route in the opposite direction.

Vehicles belonging to residents living near the PET/PST test area will use internal link roads and should not use the restricted road stretch.
Traffic Arrangements for September 12 and 13
From 4:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
Both tubes of Ring Road from Marh Intersection up to Tawi Bridge will be utilised for the scheduled PET/PST test.
After 12:00 Noon, only one tube—from Deharan towards Tawi Bridge on Ring Road—will be used for the test.
Traffic will be allowed through the other tube, i.e. the tube coming from Tawi Bridge towards Deharan.
Diversions on September 12 and 13
From 4:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
1. Kot Bhalwal to Miran Sahib:
Vehicles coming from Kot Bhalwal via Ring Road towards Miran Sahib will use the service lane of Ring Road joining NH-144A at Deharan and travel through City Jammu.
2. Akhnoor to Miran Sahib:
Vehicles coming from Akhnoor towards Miran Sahib should not use the Ring Road towards Akhnoor. They should move through City Jammu for onward travel.
3. City South to Akhnoor:
Vehicles coming from City South via Ring Road towards Akhnoor will take diversion from Miran Sahib and follow the route via Satwari, Asia Crossing, 4th Tawi Bridge, Canal Head and Akhnoor Road.
4. Samba/Kathua to Rajouri/Poonch:
Trucks coming from Samba/Kathua towards Rajouri/Poonch will take diversion from Zamrunda Dhaba, Raya Morh towards Bari Brahmana – City Jammu and proceed towards their destination.
Trucks coming from Rajouri/Poonch towards Samba/Kathua will follow the same route in the opposite direction.

5. Local residents:
People residing near the PET/PST test area should use internal link roads and avoid the restricted Ring Road stretch.
After 12:00 Noon
The diversions imposed on September 11, 2026 will continue to remain applicable on September 12 and 13 after 12:00 Noon.
Advisory for Commuters
The Ring Road stretch from Marh Intersection up to Tawi Bridge will remain restricted from 4:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
Later, only one tube will be available for normal traffic movement.
Commuters are advised to maintain lane discipline.
Avoid overtaking vehicles moving ahead, as this may cause traffic congestion and jams.
The public is requested to cooperate with Traffic Police personnel and follow the prescribed diversion plan.
