Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, under the Health & Medical Education Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, has invited online applications from eligible candidates for engagement as Senior Resident in Radiation Oncology (Radiotherapy) on an Academic Arrangement basis.

The engagement will be made on an Academic Arrangement basis and is open to eligible candidates domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

MBBS degree

MD/DNB in the concerned discipline

The qualification must be from an institution recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Candidates must be registered with the J&K State Medical Council.

The eligibility is to be determined in accordance with the Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2025.

Duration of Engagement

The selected Senior Resident will initially be engaged for a period of one year.

The engagement may be extended on a year-to-year basis up to a maximum period of three years, subject to satisfactory performance and certification by the concerned Head of Department after completion of each year.

Candidates who have already undergone Senior Residency are generally not eligible to apply if they have completed more than the permitted period. Candidates with 30 months or less of previous Senior Residency may apply to complete the remaining period, subject to the conditions mentioned in the advertisement.

Selection Process

Selection of candidates will be based on their performance in an MCQ-based written test, as prescribed under the applicable Government Order.

In case two or more candidates secure equal marks, preference will be given to the candidate having the earlier date of birth.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 45 years for both in-service and non-in-service/PSC candidates.

Conditions for Non-In-Service Candidates

Non-in-service candidates will be engaged under the applicable provisions of S.O. 364 of 2020 dated 27 November 2020.

Candidates who are already undergoing Senior Residency and have not completed 30 months may also apply, but they will have to produce a No Objection Certificate/Relieving Order from the institution where they are currently serving.

Conditions for In-Service Candidates

For in-service candidates, applications will be considered only after fulfillment of all prescribed requirements and production of the required NOC from the parent department.

The application process is subject to the relevant provisions of the J&K Civil Service Regulations, 1979, applicable government circulars and other administrative guidelines.

The pay of an in-service doctor will be governed by their Last Pay Certificate (LPC).

In-service candidates who are already undergoing or have previously undergone Senior Residency elsewhere are debarred from applying.

Documents Required

Applicants are required to submit self-attested copies of the relevant documents, including:

MBBS Degree Certificate.

Internship Completion Certificate.

MD/DNB qualification/degree certificate in the concerned specialty.

NMC/J&K Medical Council registration certificates for MBBS and MD/DNB.

All MBBS/MD/DNB mark sheets.

Date of Birth Certificate.

Domicile Certificate.

No Objection Certificate for in-service candidates.

Screening Test Pass Certificate, wherever applicable for FMGs.

Experience Certificate for candidates already undergoing Senior Residency who have not completed three years.

Required affidavit.

Incomplete applications or applications submitted without the required documents may be rejected without further notice.

Affidavit Requirement

Candidates are required to submit an affidavit duly attested by a 1st Class Judicial Magistrate confirming, among other things, that:

They are domiciled in the UT of J&K and possess the required documents/certificates.

They have not previously undertaken Senior Residency within or outside the UT of J&K, where applicable to fresh applicants.

The information provided in the application is true and correct.

Application Fee

Candidates have to pay an application fee of ₹1,000, which is non-refundable, for each post applied for.

The fee can be paid online through Net Banking, UPI, Credit Card or Debit Card.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates can apply online through the official GMC Anantnag website: www.gmcanantnag.ac.in

The online application process is scheduled to commence from 15 September 2026.

After submitting the online application, candidates are required to submit a hard copy of the duly signed application form, along with self-attested photocopies of all required documents and fee-payment receipt details, to the Establishment Section, Main Campus, Dialgam, Government Medical College Anantnag.

Hard Copy Submission Deadline

The hard copy must be submitted on or before 30 September 2026.

Important Instructions

Candidates should carefully read all eligibility conditions and instructions before submitting the online application.

Applicants must upload scanned copies of original certificates. Scanned photocopies of original certificates will not be entertained.

The candidate’s name, parentage and date of birth must be entered exactly as recorded in the matriculation certificate.

Applicants should carefully fill every field in the online application form. Requests for changes or corrections after final submission will not be entertained.

Applications containing blurred or illegible photographs/signatures may be rejected.

Candidates must ensure that the email ID and mobile/phone number provided in the application remain active throughout the selection process.

Incomplete application forms will be rejected without further communication.

Agreement and Notice Period

Selected candidates are required to execute an agreement as prescribed under the applicable Government order.

The selected Senior Resident is required to serve for the prescribed minimum period. In case of abandonment or premature termination, the applicable one-month notice requirement will apply, subject to the terms mentioned in the advertisement.

Waiting List

A waiting list will be prepared and will remain valid for three months from the date of issue of the selection list.

A selected candidate who joins as Senior Resident and fails to serve for at least six months will not be given an experience certificate.
