Weather Conditions To Improve Across Jammu Kashmir From Friday: MeT

The Meteorological Department on Thursday forecast an extended spell of pleasant weather across Jammu and Kashmir from Friday, following the brief deterioration in conditions witnessed this week.

A MeT official said the current rainfall was in line with the department’s earlier forecast of a temporary change in weather around September 15 and 16.

Rain was being reported from parts of south Kashmir and the eastern Valley, including Pahalgam and Malgam, while some areas of Kishtwar and Jammu were also receiving rainfall.

The official said light drizzle could occur around Srinagar on Thursday evening.

From Friday, weather conditions are expected to improve, with increased sunshine and warmer daytime temperatures across the region. Day temperatures are likely to remain two to three degrees above normal, while night temperatures are expected to stay two to three degrees below normal.

The official said the relatively pleasant conditions could persist for five to seven days, potentially continuing until September 25.
