Educational Qualification and Experience
Candidates must satisfy either of the following qualification and experience combinations:
Option 1: Master’s Degree with Experience
Master’s degree in Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Business Studies or Public Administration from a recognized university or institution.
One year of experience in handling stores and maintaining store accounts.
Option 2: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma with Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Business Studies or Public Administration from a recognized university or institution; or
Diploma in Material Management, Warehousing Management, Purchasing, Logistics or Public Procurement from a recognized university or institution.
Two years of experience in handling stores and maintaining store accounts.

The prescribed stores and accounts experience must have been gained in any of the following:

Salary
The Foreman of Stores post carries Pay Level 6 under the applicable Central Government pay structure.
Nature of Duties
Acting as custodian of the storehouse.
Supervising staff working under the Foreman of Stores.
Assisting senior officers in the audit of ledgers and folios.
Coordinating with the audit authority.
Managing inventory and disposing of scrap materials.
Supervising the receipt and issue of stores in the warehouse.
Ensuring effective material management.
Performing other duties connected with stores and service requirements.
Selection Process
The Indian Coast Guard Foreman of Stores selection process includes the following stages:
