J&K Traffic Police Advisory
The Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K, Jammu/Srinagar has issued a traffic advisory regarding the movement of vehicles on NH-44 and other important routes in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the advisory, very slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 from 18 September 2026 at 4:00 PM to 19 September 2026 at 4:00 PM due to traffic jams and other road-related issues. Commuters have been advised to plan their journeys carefully and confirm the latest road status before travelling.

Due to widening work being carried out by NHAI on the Digdo-Khooni Nallah side of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, movement of vehicles carrying hazardous or inflammable material has been restricted during daytime between 0800 hrs and 1800 hrs.
The movement of tankers loaded with inflammable material through the tunnel will be allowed only after Chenani and after completion of the specified tunnel movement.
Tankers and other operators have been advised to plan their journey accordingly to avoid inconvenience and ensure safety.
Advisory for Goods Carrier Operators
Goods carrier operators carrying perishable goods have been advised to load their vehicles according to the advisory issued by Traffic Police Headquarters.
They should also plan their movement in advance, as there may be restrictions or delays due to the prevailing road and traffic conditions.
Advisory for HMVs
HMV operators have been advised to avoid overloading and to properly check the condition of their vehicles before undertaking journeys on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs/passenger vehicles/private cars/HMVs (good carriers) will be allowed from both sides of the Jammu-Srinagar Highway.
Vehicles travelling from Jammu towards Srinagar and Srinagar towards Jammu will be regulated according to the prevailing road condition.
Commuters are advised to follow the instructions of the Traffic Police and remain cautious while travelling on NH-44.
Army/SF Convoy Movement
Security forces vehicles moving from both sides on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway will be regulated according to the prevailing traffic situation.
Army/Security Forces convoys will be managed in coordination with the concerned Traffic Control Units, particularly TCU Ramban and other relevant traffic authorities.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
As per the traffic plan, LMVs/passenger vehicles/private cars will be allowed to move on the Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244 after receiving the required clearance from road maintenance authorities.
The advisory provides for regulated movement during specified hours, with traffic being controlled according to road conditions and signals from the concerned road maintenance agencies.
Vehicles will be allowed to move only after receiving the required clearance from the Traffic Control Unit.
SSG Road
On the SSG Road, LMVs will be allowed to move from both sides, subject to favourable weather and good road conditions.
Vehicles travelling towards Srinagar and Kargil will be regulated after receiving the necessary signal from the concerned road authorities.

Mughal Road
For Mughal Road (NH-701A), LMVs will be allowed to move from both sides after receiving clearance from the road maintenance agency.
The advisory covers movement between Poonch and Shopian and vice versa, with traffic to be regulated according to prevailing road conditions.
Vehicles should follow the instructions of the Traffic Police and concerned authorities before undertaking the journey.
