Union Minister distributes 120 job letters in Jammu

JAMMU, Sept 19: Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chander Dubey today distributed 120 appointment letters to the youth here during 20th Rozgar Mela after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to youth and handing over of 51,000 jobs through video conferencing.

Addressing the youth after the Prime Minister completed his virtual address, Dubey referred to the Rozgar Mela and distribution of appointment letters among the youth.

He congratulated the fresh recruits and expressed confidence that they will do their duties with honesty and commitment.

The Union Minister handed over a total of 120 letters to the youth, who have been selected in different Central Government departments through recruitment agencies.

BJP Jammu Lok Sabha member Jugal Kishore Sharma and MLAs were also present at the function which was held at the Jammu Convention Centre.

This was the 20th Rozgar Mela and was held at 45 locations across the country including Jammu. A total of 51,000 appointment letters were distributed among the youth across the country.

“The Rozgar Mela is a Government initiative focused on expediting recruitment to Government posts and filling vacancies across Ministries, Departments and organisations. It is part of the Government’s broader focus on youth empowerment, timely recruitment and nation-building,” an official statement said.

Launched on October 22, 2022, the initiative initially focused on facilitating the recruitment of 10 lakh individuals to the Government jobs in a time-bound manner.

The first Rozgar Mela distributed more than 75,000 appointment letters at 50 locations across the country. Through the first 19 editions, over 12 lakh recruitment letters have been issued, exceeding the original target.

“Recruitment has been pursued through a mission-mode approach with Ministries and Departments working to fill vacancies against sanctioned posts. The process is undertaken through established recruitment mechanisms and designated agencies such as the Union Public Service Commission, Staff Selection Commission, and Railway Recruitment Boards, the statement said.

The new recruits have joined the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Labour and Employment, and many other departments.
