1. OECD Raises India’s FY 2026–27 Growth Forecast

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has raised its forecast for India’s economic growth in FY 2026–27 to 7.1%, up from its earlier estimate of 6.3%.

The revision comes amid strong domestic economic activity and investment. India recorded 7.8% year-on-year GDP growth in the April–June quarter. Moody’s had also recently raised its FY2027 growth forecast for India to 7%.

2. India Rejects OIC Remarks on Jammu & Kashmir

India has categorically rejected references to Jammu and Kashmir in a recent communiqué issued by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir.

India stated that the OIC has no locus standi on matters that are internal to India and reiterated its position regarding Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

The OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir comprises Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
