The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Kashmir, through the Watson-Crick Centre for Molecular Medicine, has invited applications from eligible candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF). The recruitment is being conducted under an ANRF Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG) funded research project.
The project is titled “Development of a Dual-Responsive Mucoadhesive Biomaterial for Local Tumor Suppression and Mucosal Regeneration in Canine Oral Carcinoma.”

The recruitment is for one (01) Junior Research Fellow post. The selected candidate will work at the Watson Crick Centre for Molecular Medicine, IUST, Awantipora.
Salary 2026
The selected Junior Research Fellow will receive Rs. 37,000 per month plus HRA. HRA will be provided as per the applicable university guidelines.

Candidates must possess a Postgraduate Degree in any of the following subjects or allied disciplines:

The postgraduate qualification must have been selected through an eligible national-level examination route specified in the notification.
Candidates should qualify through one of the following routes:
CSIR-UGC NET, including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship and GATE.
National-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments, agencies and institutions such as ICAR, DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER, among others.
Desirable Experience
Preference may be given to candidates having relevant experience in areas such as:
Mammalian cell culture
Biomaterials
Drug delivery systems
Bioengineering
Animal handling

Project Duration
The initial project appointment will be for one year. The tenure may be extended depending on the candidate’s performance and the availability of funds.

Important Terms and Conditions
The JRF position is purely temporary and will remain co-terminus with the research project. The selected candidate will not have any claim for regular appointment at the university on the basis of this position.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. IUST also reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process without assigning any reason.
The selected candidate will be governed by the rules of ANRF and IUST applicable from time to time.
In case a selected candidate wishes to withdraw from the position, the notice specifies a one-month notice period or one month’s salary, as applicable.
