Fitch Ratings raised India’s FY 2026–27 GDP growth forecast to 6.9%, citing stronger-than-expected economic growth, resilient domestic demand and investment activity. India had recorded 7.8% year-on-year GDP growth in Q1 FY27.

India Develops Directed-Energy Weapon Technology
DRDO is developing a 30 kW-class Directed-Energy Weapon (DEW) under the Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction System. The system is intended to counter threats including drone swarms, fixed-wing UAVs and surveillance sensors.
