GMC Srinagar Senior Resident Selection List 2026 Released
Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar has issued the provisional selection list for Senior Resident tenure posts in various departments. The selection has been made in accordance with the eligibility and selection guidelines framed by the Health and Medical Education Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir.
The notification relates to Notification No. 14-RA of 2026 and is dated 24 September 2026.
GMC Srinagar had invited applications through Advertisement Notice No. 10 of 2026 dated 1 August 2026 for filling tenure posts of Senior Residents/Demonstrators in various disciplines. The recruitment was open to eligible in-service and non-in-service doctors possessing the required qualifications.
According to the notification, GMC Srinagar received 99 application forms across 13 departments/disciplines. The applications were subsequently scrutinized by the office of the Deputy Registrar (Academics) for eligibility and selection purposes.

Written Test Requirement
As per the Government Order cited in the notification, a written test for a discipline may be dispensed with where there is no vacancy, no vacancy likely to accrue during the next six months, or where the number of applications is less than or equal to the advertised posts.
Based on the position explained in the notification, GMC Srinagar issued the provisional selection list comprising 23 candidates in the concerned disciplines.

Department-Wise Selected Candidates
The 23 selected candidates are distributed across the departments of Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, Medical Oncology, Paediatrics, Pediatric Neurology and Pharmacology. The annexure identifies the candidates’ respective disciplines and records the selection status.
Document Verification and Reporting
Candidates whose names appear in the provisional selection list have been directed to report to the Office of the Registrar Academics, Government Medical College, Srinagar, within seven days from the date of issuance of the notification.
Candidates are required to submit/produce the documents specified in the notification, including:
Original certificates for physical verification
Certificates uploaded with the application
Other documents required under the applicable recruitment guidelines
Documents required for Employee Verification System (EVS) processing and verification of character and antecedents
The notification specifically requires the original certificates submitted online to be produced for physical verification.
Important Notice for Selected Candidates
The selection is provisional. If a candidate fails to report to the Registrar Academics within the stipulated period, or if the documents produced during physical verification are not found to comply with the conditions and guidelines mentioned in the advertisement notification, the provisional selection may be cancelled without any further notice.
GMC Srinagar has also instructed that candidates should not be allowed to join the respective departments until formal engagement orders are issued by the concerned office.
