Age Limit

The age limit is a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 28 years as on 01.09.2026. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.09.1998 and not later than 01.09.2006 (both days inclusive). The maximum age limit applies to General Category and EWS candidates.

Other Eligibility Conditions and Notes

Age relaxation for SC/ ST/ OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates is allowed on a cumulative basis with only one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted.

Candidates seeking age relaxation must submit the necessary certificate(s) in original along with photocopies at the time of document verification/ reporting for On-the-Job training and at any later stage required by the Bank.

Reservation for PwBD is horizontal and within the overall training vacancies for the State.

No Ex-servicemen/ Disabled Ex-Servicemen shall be engaged as an apprentice, and there is no reservation for them in this engagement.

The candidate should not have undergone Apprenticeship Training with Canara Bank or any other organization earlier, should not be pursuing Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act 1961, and should not have been terminated during Apprenticeship Training due to their own fault.

BSF Doctor Recruitment 2026

Candidates who have undergone training or have job experience of one or more years after completing their educational qualification are not eligible.

SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwBD candidates need a Caste/ Category Certificate issued by a competent authority in the format prescribed by the Government of India.

OBC candidates need a valid OBC certificate with a non-creamy layer clause. OBC candidates who come under the creamy layer are not entitled to OBC reservation and should indicate their category as General in the online application.

Reservation Details

Reservation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS/ PwBD candidates is as per the prescribed reservation percentages of the respective States/ UTs as per Government guidelines. Candidates from reserved categories, including those for whom no reservation is mentioned, may apply for unreserved vacancies if they fulfil all eligibility conditions applicable to the unreserved category.

PwBD Reservation

Under section 34 of “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016”, persons with benchmark disabilities are eligible for reservation. The post is identified as suitable for the following disability categories as defined in the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016.

Visual Impairment (VI): Persons with blindness (total absence of sight; visual acuity less than 3/ 60 or less than 10/ 200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible correction; or limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of less than 10 degrees) or low vision (visual acuity not exceeding 6/ 18 or less than 20/ 60 up to 3/ 60 or up to 10/ 200 (Snellen) in the better eye with best possible correction; or limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of less than 40 degrees up to 10 degrees).

Hearing Impaired (HI): Deaf (70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears) or Hard of Hearing (60 DB to 70 DB hearing loss in speech frequencies in both ears).

Orthopedically Challenged/ Locomotor Disability (OC/ LD): Inability to execute distinctive activities associated with movement of self and objects resulting from affliction of the musculoskeletal or nervous system or both, including Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism (adult height of 4 feet 10 inches (147 centimeters) or less), Muscular Dystrophy, Acid Attack Victims, Spinal Deformity and Spinal Injury without any associated neurological/ limb dysfunction.

Intellectual Disability (ID): Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disability (SLD) and Mental Illness (MI), as defined in the notification.

Multiple Disabilities: Multiple disabilities among the categories above.

Only persons with benchmark disabilities are eligible for reservation. A benchmark disability means not less than 40% of a specified disability, as certified by the certifying authority. Candidates must submit a disability certificate issued by a Competent Authority as per Government of India guidelines, which is subject to verification or re-verification at any point. PwBD reservation is not applicable on the basis of a temporary disability certificate. It is only for persons with irreversible permanent benchmark disability in terms of O.M. No. 36035/ 8/ 2023-Estt. (Res-II) dated 19.05.2023 of DoPT. Government guidelines may change from time to time.

EWS Reservation

Persons not covered under the reservation schemes for SC, ST and OBC, and whose family gross annual income is below Rs. 8.00 lakh, are identified as EWS. Income includes all sources (salary, agriculture, business, profession, etc.) for the financial year prior to the year of application.

Families owning any of these assets are excluded irrespective of income: 5 acres of agricultural land and above; a residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. and above; a residential plot of 100 sq. yards and above in notified municipalities; a residential plot of 200 sq. yards and above in areas other than notified municipalities.

Property held in different locations or cities is clubbed for the land or property holding test.

The EWS benefit requires an Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority in the format prescribed by the Government of India. Shortlisted candidates must bring it at document verification.

“Family” includes the candidate, parents and siblings below 18 years, and the spouse and children below 18 years.

Stipend and Salary

Apprentices are not employees of Canara Bank. A monthly stipend is paid instead of a salary during the apprenticeship period.

Application Fee

The fee is non-refundable and includes GST. It is payable online only.

Payment can be made by Debit Cards (RuPay/ Visa/ MasterCard/ Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards or Mobile Wallets. An e-receipt is generated after a successful transaction. Candidates should not press Back or Refresh after submitting payment information, to avoid double charge.

Selection Process

Selection is merit-based. The notification does not describe a written examination.

Merit list: Prepared state-wise in descending order of marks/ percentage in 12th Std (HSC/ 10+2)/ Diploma Examination. Ties are ranked by age in descending order.

Minimum marks: Not less than 60% (55% for SC/ ST/ PwBD) in 12th Std/ Diploma. Fractions are ignored, so 59.99% is treated as below 60% and 54.99% as below 55%.

Document Verification and local language test: Conducted during the Document Verification process. Original documents are checked. Any discrepancy leads to summary disqualification.

Final selection is subject to verification of eligibility and application information, qualification in the local language test of the opted State where applicable, and being declared medically fit.

Where CGPA/ OGPA is awarded, it must be converted into percentage in the online application, with a certificate from the appropriate authority stating the conversion norms. Percentage is total marks obtained in all subjects in all semesters/ years divided by aggregate maximum marks, multiplied by 100. The merit list is prepared only on the information submitted in the online application.

Visit www.canarabank.bank.in, open Careers, then Recruitment, then the link “Engagement of Graduate Apprentices in Canara Bank under Apprentices Act, 1961 for FY 2026-27”.

Click “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” and enter basic information. A provisional registration number and password are generated and sent by email and SMS. Saved data can be reopened using them.

Enter the NATS enrollment ID, fill all fields, and choose one State along with district preferences.

Upload the photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration as specified below.

Use “SAVE AND NEXT” to verify details. No change is possible after clicking FINAL SUBMIT.

Pay the fee online (if applicable), then take a printout of the application and e-receipt.

Apply well before the closing date to avoid website load issues. Only one application should be submitted; if multiple are submitted, only the latest valid completed application is retained.

Documents Required to Apply Online

The declaration text is: “I, ____ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.” Candidates without a left thumb may use the right thumb or other alternatives given in the notification, and must mention the finger and hand/ toe used in the uploaded document. Candidates who cannot write may type the declaration and put their left thumb impression below it. Images should be scanned at a minimum of 200 dpi in true colour, in JPG/ JPEG format. Unclear or smudged images may lead to rejection.

Candidates also need a valid personal email ID and mobile number, active until the process ends, and should spell their name as in the SSC/ SSLC/ X Standard marks card (or as per Gazette Notification/ Marriage Certificate if changed). An application that is incomplete or has unsuccessful fee payment is invalid. If no email/ SMS intimation is received, the application is considered not successfully registered.

Documents to Be Produced at the Time of Engagement

Originals with a self-attested photocopy must be submitted, failing which the candidate may not be permitted to join.

Valid system-generated printout of the online application.

Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate from a Competent Authority or SSLC/ Std. X Certificate with date of birth).

Photo ID: Passport, Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License or any other photo ID issued by Statutory Authorities.

Mark sheets/ certificates from SSC onwards to the highest examination passed, including semester/ year-wise mark sheets and the final degree, with proper Board/ University proof that the result was declared on or before the cut-off date.

Income and Asset Certificate in the prescribed format (EWS candidates).

Caste Certificate in the prescribed format (SC/ ST/ OBC). For OBC, the certificate must include the non-creamy layer clause, be valid as on the date of notification, and the caste name must tally letter by letter with the Government list.

UDID card and Disability Certificate from a Medical Board (at least three members, including a specialist) in the prescribed format (PwBD candidates).

Any other relevant documents in support of eligibility.
