Around 25 passengers sustained minor injuries after a West Bengal-registered sleeper bus overturned in the down tube near Maroog on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) in Ramban district on Thursday.

Police said the injured passengers were shifted to District Hospital Ramban for treatment with the assistance of personnel from the police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), CRPF, Army and Civil QRT Ramban volunteers.

Traffic police officials said the bus, bearing registration number WB39K-2929 and having a seating capacity of 58, was carrying 55 passengers when the accident occurred. It was travelling from Srinagar towards Jammu.
