The Office of the Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Kishtwar, Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, has issued an Advertisement Notice dated 28 September 2026 for the engagement of a Peer Supporter/Educator under the National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme (NVHCP).
The engagement is intended for eligible candidates affected by Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C, including positive/reactive or recovered cases, who are residents of District Kishtwar and are willing to work voluntarily to support people suffering from Hepatitis infection as per NVHCP guidelines.

Name of the Post
Applications are invited for engagement against one post of Peer Supporter/Educator for the Treatment Centre of District Hospital Kishtwar.
The selected person will provide support and assistance to individuals suffering from Hepatitis infection and help them understand and complete the required treatment-related procedures under the National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme.
Eligibility Criteria
Interested candidates must fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions.
Educational Qualification
The candidate must have passed 12th Class or above from a recognized board or institution.

The applicant should be a person who is:
Positive/reactive for Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C, or
Recovered from Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C.
The candidate should preferably have personal experience with the disease and should be willing to support other persons affected by Hepatitis.
Computer Knowledge
The applicant should have good knowledge and experience of computers.
Preference will be given to candidates having relevant computer qualifications or experience, such as:
Certificate in Computers/Application
Diploma in Information Technology
Degree in Computers Application or Information Technology
Experience as a Data Entry Operator
Experience as a Computer Operator
Experience as a Computer Assistant
Residency Requirement
The candidate should be a domicile of District Kishtwar and should preferably be residing near District Hospital Kishtwar.
Other Requirements
The candidate should:
Be in good health condition.
Be able to perform routine duties during office hours.
Be willing to voluntarily provide support to people suffering from Hepatitis infection.
Be willing to contact, call and motivate patients for completion of treatment.
Assist patients in undergoing various tests as required under the applicable guidelines.
Monthly Honorarium
The selected Peer Supporter/Educator will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs. 10,000, or such amount as may be approved under the applicable Rate of Provision (RoP).
The engagement is not a regular government appointment and is based on the terms and conditions prescribed in the advertisement.
Nature and Conditions of Engagement
The engagement will be subject to the following conditions:
The engagement may be terminated at any time by giving short notice if the work and conduct of the Peer Supporter/Educator is found unsatisfactory or is not approved under the applicable RoP.
The engagement will not be treated as a regular job. It is a voluntary service for which an honorarium will be paid as approved under the RoP.
The engagement will not confer any right upon the selected candidate for continuation, regularization or transfer.
If the Peer Supporter/Educator wilfully neglects or refuses to perform the assigned duties, the engagement may be terminated without notice. No honorarium will be payable for such period.
The Selection Committee reserves the right to reject any application that does not fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria.
No TA/DA will be admissible to candidates in connection with the selection/engagement process.

Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority.
Certificate showing the distance from District Hospital Kishtwar to the applicant’s residence, issued by ARTO Kishtwar.
Date of Birth Certificate issued by the competent authority.
Educational Qualification Certificate issued by the competent authority.
Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Computers or Information Technology, wherever applicable.
Experience Certificate as Data Entry Operator, Computer Operator or Computer Assistant from a Government/Semi-Government/Government-recognized institution, wherever applicable.
Medical Certificate confirming that the applicant is Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C positive/reactive or has recovered from Hepatitis B or C disease, issued by a Medical Officer/Consultant of a Government Hospital, Health Institution or equivalent recognized facility.

Affidavit declaring that the applicant has no claim for service in NHM, duly sworn before a 1st Class Magistrate.
