J&K AYUSH Recruitment 2026 Cancelled, 118 Posts Withdrawn

The Directorate of AYUSH, Jammu & Kashmir, has issued an important notification regarding the withdrawal of earlier recruitment advertisements issued for contractual manpower under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) and the Central Sector Scheme of Conservation, Development & Sustainability of Medicinal Plants.

As per the notification, the previously issued advertisements covering 118 contractual positions have been withdrawn, and all subsequent recruitment-related steps taken pursuant to those advertisements have been cancelled with immediate retrospective effect.

Official Notification

The notification has been issued by the Directorate of AYUSH, J&K, functioning from Bemina, Srinagar / Indira Chowk, Jammu.

The subject of the notification is:

“Implementation of decision of the Governing Body of J&K AYUSH Society (National Ayush Mission)-Withdrawal of advertisement notifications and cancellation of subsequent steps of recruitment thereof.”

Why Were the Recruitment Advertisements Withdrawn?

The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, had earlier conveyed approval for hiring manpower on a contractual basis under the State Annual Action Plans for the years 2020-21 and 2021-22 under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the National AYUSH Mission.

Approval was also provided for hiring various categories of personnel under the Central Sector Scheme of Conservation, Development & Sustainability of Medicinal Plants.

Based on these approvals, the Directorate of AYUSH, J&K had issued different recruitment advertisements for a total of 118 posts on a contractual basis.

The recruitment process subsequently progressed through various stages. However, the matter was later taken up with the Administrative Department of Health and Medical Education and placed before the Governing Body of the J&K AYUSH Society.

Governing Body Decision

The matter was considered during the meeting of the Governing Body of the J&K AYUSH Society (NAM) held on 1 June 2026.

The Governing Body decided that the previously advertised categories of posts under the National AYUSH Mission and the Central Sector Scheme of Conservation, Development & Sustainability of Medicinal Plants would be withdrawn.

It was further decided that all subsequent steps taken in pursuance of those advertisements would be treated as cancelled.

The Administrative Department subsequently conveyed approval for implementation of this decision through communication No. HD-Ism/95/2026-02 (E-7757454) dated 07 August 2026.

Advertisements Covering 118 Posts Withdrawn

The cancelled recruitment advertisements covered the following categories:

1. District Accounts Manager – 20 Posts

A total of 20 District Accounts Manager positions were advertised under notification Dir-Ayush/NAM/11176 dated 15 December 2021.

2. Consultant (Medicinal Plants & Botany / Taxonomy) – 2 Posts

The recruitment included 2 Consultant positions relating to Medicinal Plants and Botany/Taxonomy.

These were advertised under notification Dir-Ayush/JK-MPB/11177 dated 15 December 2021.

3. Accounts Assistant – 1 Post

The notification also covered 1 Accounts Assistant position under notification Dir-Ayush/JK-MPB/11177 dated 15 December 2021.

4. Medical Officer (Community Health Officer) – AYUSH – 50 Posts

The largest category comprised 50 Medical Officer (Community Health Officer)-AYUSH positions.

These were advertised under notification Dir-Ayush/NAM/11195 dated 16 December 2021.

5. Skilled Attendants (Nursing Orderlies) in Panchkarma / Regimental Therapies – 43 Posts

A total of 43 Skilled Attendant positions relating to Nursing Orderlies in Panchkarma / Regimental Therapies were included.

The relevant advertisement was issued under DISM/NAM/2300 dated 04 June 2021.

6. Masseurs (Naturopathy) – 2 Posts

The recruitment also included 2 Masseurs (Naturopathy) positions under notification Dir-Ayush/NAM/4051 dated 01 April 2022.

Total Vacancies Covered

The withdrawn advertisements collectively covered 118 contractual positions across different categories under the AYUSH and medicinal-plants schemes.

The posts included administrative, accounts, medical, therapeutic and support-level positions.

All Subsequent Recruitment Steps Cancelled

The Directorate of AYUSH has clearly stated that not only the original advertisements but also all subsequent steps taken pursuant to or in furtherance of those advertisements stand cancelled.

These recruitment proceedings will therefore have no further force or effect.

Candidates who had participated in the recruitment process should note that the earlier recruitment exercise will not result in any appointment or engagement under the withdrawn advertisements.

No Right or Claim Created for Candidates

The notification further clarifies that merely participating in the recruitment process does not create any legal right, claim, interest or entitlement in favour of any candidate.

This includes candidates who:

  • Submitted an application;
  • Participated in any stage of the recruitment process; or
  • Took any other action pursuant to the advertisements.

Therefore, participation in the earlier recruitment process cannot be treated as a basis for claiming appointment or contractual engagement.
