J&K Health Department Appointment List 2026

The Health & Medical Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, has issued a government order regarding the appointment of candidates to the post of Medical Officer (Ayurvedic) in the Health and Medical Education Department.

The appointments have been made on the recommendation of the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and are subject to the terms and conditions mentioned in the government order.

The appointments have been sanctioned following receipt of the satisfactory report regarding Character and Antecedents from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), J&K.

The appointed candidates are required to report to the Directorate of Ayush, J&K, within 21 days from the date of issuance of the order.

Failure to join within the stipulated period will result in the appointment being treated as deemed cancelled ab-initio.

The appointed candidates are required to produce their original documents/certificates for verification before joining. These include:

Educational qualification degree issued by a recognized institute/university.

Matriculation/Date of Birth Certificate issued by the recognized Education Board.

Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority.

Health Certificate issued by the concerned Chief Medical Officer.

Valid relevant category certificate, wherever applicable.

Other certificates/documents required under applicable rules and norms.

Candidates who have availed loans for self-employment under schemes such as the DIC/Employment Department may also be required to furnish relevant information and documents concerning such loans.

Important Conditions of Appointment

The appointment is subject to several conditions prescribed by the Health & Medical Education Department.

The appointees are required to furnish an undertaking/affidavit confirming that they have no criminal record and that no criminal proceedings are pending against them in any court of law.

If verification reveals that any qualification, certificate, document or other information furnished by a candidate is fake or forged, the appointment will be treated as cancelled ab-initio, and action may be initiated against the concerned candidate under the applicable rules.

The salary of the appointees will not be drawn or disbursed until the necessary qualification/degree, date-of-birth and relevant category certificates have been received from the concerned issuing authorities.

The appointments will be governed by the applicable pension rules, including the New Pension Scheme as per SRO-400 of 2009 dated 24 December 2009, wherever applicable.

Candidates appointed under the Reservation Rules/Act are required to serve in the concerned reserved areas for the prescribed period. The order specifically mentions a minimum period of seven years for candidates appointed under the relevant reservation provisions.

The inter-se seniority of the appointed candidates will be determined in accordance with the merit position prepared by the Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission.

The appointment will also remain subject to the outcome of any writ petition pending before a competent court of law.

Joining Deadline

All selected candidates are required to join the Directorate of Ayush, J&K within 21 days from the date of issuance of the Government Order.

Candidates who fail to join within the stipulated period will risk cancellation of their appointment.
