Air India Frankfurt–Delhi Flight Diverted to Jaipur After Bomb Threat
An Air India flight travelling from Frankfurt, Germany, to Delhi was diverted to Jaipur on Wednesday following a security alert.
The flight, AI2030, operated by a Boeing 787-9 aircraft, made an emergency landing at Jaipur International Airport and was moved to an isolated bay for security checks.
According to a PTI report cited by Times of India, the pilot reportedly activated Squawk Code 7500, an internationally recognised transponder code indicating hijacking or unlawful interference, while the aircraft was in the Mumbai Flight Information Region.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Malviya Nagar) Shiv Dayal said airport authorities had alerted the police about the emergency landing following the threat.
Police and security personnel subsequently began checking the aircraft at the isolation bay.
Note: The initial reports describe a bomb threat and a possible hijack alert. The precise circumstances were still under investigation in the reports available at the time
