Vacancy Details
The institution has advertised two vacancies for the post of Senior Resident/Registrar in the speciality of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics.
The appointment will initially be made for a period of one year. However, the tenure may be extended on a year-to-year basis for a maximum period of three years, subject to the satisfactory Work and Conduct Certificate issued by the concerned Head of Department (HOD).

The applicant has not completed PG Entrance/Promotion/Internship/Training/Senior Residency in the concerned discipline in any Dental College or in the Dentistry Department of a Medical College or any other institute (including UT Ladakh) in any discipline.
The applicant has not been and, until the time and conditions are fulfilled, shall abide by the scores/merit list, if any, in which he/she shall be placed.
Domicile Certificate of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
A copy of Aadhaar Card.
One passport-size photograph, which should be pasted at the appropriate place on the application form.
No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Administrative Department of Health & Medical Education in the case of in-service candidates.
Candidates should ensure that all required documents are available and properly uploaded before submitting their applications.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates for the post of Senior Resident/Registrar will be based on their performance in a written examination consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
As mentioned in the advertisement, the written examination will be conducted according to the following pattern:

Marks Per Question: 4 Marks
Negative Marking: 0.1 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Important Terms and Conditions

1. Selection Through Written Examination
The selection for the tenure-based post of Senior Resident/Registrar will be made on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)-based written test.

In-service candidates belonging to the Health & Medical Education Department will be permitted to participate in the selection process only after obtaining proper permission or a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Administrative Department.
Such candidates must route their application forms through the proper channel via the Administrative Department.
4. Candidates Who Have Already Completed Their Tenure
Candidates who have already completed their tenure as Registrar, Tutor, Demonstrator or Senior Resident in the concerned discipline in any Dental College or Dentistry Department of a Medical College are not required to apply.
Their application forms will be rejected.
5. Candidates Currently Working in the Concerned Discipline
Candidates who are presently working as Registrar, Tutor, Demonstrator or Senior Resident in the concerned discipline in any Dental College or Dentistry Department of a Medical College are not eligible to apply.
Applications submitted by such candidates will be rejected.
6. Documents at the Time of Joining
Candidates selected on the basis of their performance in the written examination will be required to submit their academic and technical qualification certificates in original, along with one set of self-attested photocopies of each document, to the Office of the Principal & Dean, IGGDC, Jammu, at the time of joining.
Instructions for In-Service and PSC Dental Surgeons
In-service and PSC Dental Surgeons are required to follow a separate application procedure.
Such candidates must take a printout of the online application form and route it through the proper channel to the Office of the Principal & Dean, Indira Gandhi Government Dental College, Jammu.
The hard copy of the application form must reach the concerned office on or before 17 November 2026, up to 05:00 PM.
