GMC Anantnag Senior Resident Selection List 2026 Released
Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag has issued the selection list for the tenure-based posts of Senior Residents in various medical disciplines. The notification has been issued by the Health and Medical Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, vide Notification No. 19 GMCA of 2026, dated October 31, 2026.
Candidates who applied for the advertised positions can check their selection status in the official selection list issued by the college.
Selection List 2026
As per the notification, Government Medical College Anantnag had invited applications through Advertisement Notice No. 12 GMCA of 2026, dated August 9, 2026, from eligible candidates for filling tenure-based positions of Senior Residents, Demonstrators and Tutors (in-service and non-in-service doctors) in various disciplines.
The recruitment process was conducted in accordance with the eligibility and selection criteria prescribed under Government Order No. 383-JK (HME) of 2024, dated June 20, 2024.
Written Examination Dispensed With
According to the notification, the college received applications for different departments and disciplines. After scrutinising the applications, the authorities found that the number of eligible applicants was less than or equal to the number of available vacancies in the following disciplines:

Radio-Diagnosis

Respiratory Medicine
In view of the provisions of Government Order No. 383-JK (HME) of 2024, the written examination was dispensed with for these disciplines.
Consequently, the selection list has been prepared and notified for the concerned departments.

Important Instructions for Selected Candidates
All candidates whose names appear in Annexure ‘A’ have been directed to report to the Office of the Principal, Government Medical College Anantnag, Main Campus, Dialgam, within 07 days from the date of issuance of the notification.
The candidates must submit the following documents for verification:
Application form (in coloured).
Photocopies of all uploaded certificates.
The candidates are also required to complete the necessary formalities for online verification through the Employee Verification System (EVS), which will be used for verification of their character and antecedents.
What Happens If a Candidate Fails to Report?
The notification clearly states that if any selected candidate fails to report to the Office of the Principal, Government Medical College Anantnag, within the stipulated seven-day period, their selection for the concerned discipline shall automatically stand forfeited.
No further notice or intimation will be issued in this regard.
Important Note Regarding Appointment
The college has clarified that the mere issuance of the selection notification does not entitle any candidate to claim appointment or engagement.
The final engagement process will be subject to the required verification and completion of the prescribed formalities.
