What are financial aids?

Financial aids are nothing but the financial help students who study get. There are so many government schemes and other organizations which provide scholarships. It can be given in the form of grant or scholarships or in form of a loan. It is basically helping a student with his or her educational expenses. Financial aid is also given by colleges, schools, other organisation, and different state legislatures and also by other mediums. Like the UCI financial aid is offered by the University of California, Irvine. There are many such colleges and organisations which offer financial aids.

Every different agencies and organisations have their own different policies and conditions. A few of them may have financial aids only for a particular category of students. They give it to only the students they think are eligible and in need of financial assistance.

Scholarships are given with the entire amount either on installation basis or all together at one time. They usually provide the entire amount required for their fee and other educational requirements. Or they give a certain amount on monthly basis. Grant is also something very similar to scholarships which are given based on the request they get by the students or parents. And loans are something which is given for the purpose of education and on a word that they replace it on time.

There are many scholarships given based on different categories. A few of them can be stated as:

• Left handed scholarship: This is a scholarship given to students who are left handed. This scholarship was basically introduced because of the less consideration given to left handed students. They were considered minority people before.
• Marks based scholarships: These are scholarships given based on the academic performances. Different colleges and organisations have different cut off percentages. To get a particular scholarship, the student must have passed with the required cut off.
• State/country based scholarships: These are the scholarships given based on the state or country you study in. For example, if you are staying in Alabama and you go for the best online colleges in Alabama, then you may also be eligible to get scholarships from the state government or that country.

How can they be useful to students?

Students can use their scholarships to pay their fee at their institution or for any other education related purpose like for buying their books or other stationary items or paying for the exam fees.

Students with great passion and talents coming from a poor family background can make great use of these scholarships. They will never have to face any difficulty in developing their talents or coming out with flying colours in their life.

Some students with different disabilities who are not given consideration by the society also get their chance to showcase their talents. For example, left handed students were not given consideration and were considered under minority category before. But now, as there are so many government as well as other organisations which promote and motivate students who are left handed, they are now considered important in other events organised by the society.
