Class-IV aspirants await selection list for 12 years in Baramulla

Twelve years on, the Baramulla district administration has failed to publish selection list of the successful candidates who had applied for some class IV vacancies way back in 2006.

Though the authorities claim the list is ready now, they say it could be further delayed for a while citing a “lame” excuse.

“The list will be published within two weeks. Though the list is ready now, the delay is due to ailment of a family member of one of the selection committee members,” deputy commissioner, Baramulla, Nasir Ahmad Natflash said.

Amazed over the “reason” for delaying the release of the list by further two weeks, the aspirants asked, “If the list is ready then why the deputy commissioner Baramulla who has to issue it is delaying it?”

We have waited for twelve long years and now the list is being stopped for further two weeks on a lame excuse,” exclaimed Ashiq Hussain, an aspirant.

The aspiring candidates alleged that the district administration “has never been serious in issuing this list on time.”

“Earlier due to the repeated interference by the political parties, the list was put on hold. However, following the Governor’s rule in

Jammu and Kashmir, a ray of hope has emerged in us. But the dilly-dallying by the district administration is dashing such hope,” the candidates said.

The candidates, meanwhile, appealed to the Governor J&K to intervene in the issue. “Hundreds of unemployed youths who have applied for these posts are awaiting the list. We appeal the Governor to intervene in this issue,” said Firdous Ahmad
