AWARENESS REGARDING AICTE – PRAGATI & SAKSHAM SCHOLARSHIP SCHEMES FOR DIPLOMA STUDENTS (SEEKING ADMISSION IN 2020)

PRAGATI SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

OBJECTIVE OF THE SCHEME:

Pragati Scheme being implemented by AICTE aimed at providing assistance for the advancement of Girls pursuing technical education. Education is one of the most important means of empowering women with the knowledge, skill, and self-confidence necessary to participate fully in the development process. This is an attempt to allow young women to further their education and prepare for a successful future by “Empowering Women through Technical Education.

ELIGIBILITY FOR SCHOLARSHIP:

The girl candidate should be admitted to the First year of Diploma level course 2020-21 OR Second-year of Diploma level course 2020-21 through lateral entry scheme in any of the AICTE approved Institution of the respective year.

A maximum of two girl children per family is eligible.

Family income from all sources should not be more than Rs. 8 lakh per annum during the current financial year. A valid income certificate issued by the Competent Authority needs to be enclosed.

NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS:

All eligible girl students admitted to the first year of Diploma level course OR Second year of Diploma level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved Institution will get the scholarship.

AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP:

50,000/- per annum for every year of study i.e. maximum 3 years for first-year admitted students and maximum 2 years for the second year admitted students through lateral entry as lump sum amount towards payment of college fee, purchase of computer, stationeries, books, equipment, software, etc. No other additional grant will be payable in lieu of hostel charges and medical charges etc.

No documentary proof needs to be attached for the above while availing benefits.

MODE OF PAYMENT:

After selection, the awardee will be paid scholarship through DBT mode on annual basis.

PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING:

The candidate fulfilling the eligibility conditions is required to apply online on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

The host institution where the candidate is studying is required to verify the online application.

Department of Technical Education (DTE) now Department of Skill Development (DSD) of UT of J&K will verify these applications as the second level of scrutiny.

Copy of 10Th Pass Certificate.

Copy of ITI certificate (In case of Lateral Entry for Diploma level).

SAKSHAM SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR SPECIALLY- ABLED DIPLOMA STUDENT

OBJECTIVE OF THE SCHEME:

Saksham is an MI-IRD Scheme being implemented by AICTE aimed at providing encouragement and support to specially-abled children to pursue technical education. This is an attempt to give every young student, who is otherwise specially-abled, the opportunity to study further, and prepare for a successful future through technical education/ knowledge.

ELIGIBILITY FOR SCHOLARSHIP:

The candidate (Male/Female) should be admitted to the First year of Diploma Level Course 2020-21 OR Second-year of Diploma level course 2020-21 through lateral entry scheme in any of the AICTE approved Institution of the respective year.

Specially-abled students, having a disability of not less than 40%.

Family income from all sources should not be more than Rs. 8 Iakh per annum during the current financial year. A valid income certificate issued by the Competent Authority needs to be enclosed.

All eligible specially-abled students admitted to the first year of Diploma level course OR Second year of Diploma level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved Institution will get the scholarship.
