PM Modi launches 5G services at the 6th India Mobile Congress

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the 6th India Mobile Congress at Pragati Maidan in Delhi and also launched 5G services.

The 5G telecom service aims to offer continuous coverage and high data rates with low latency, and highly reliable communications systems.

The three largest telecom operators in the country showed a single use case before the Prime Minister in order to showcase that 5G has potential in India.

The diverse applications showcased before PM during the show include precision drone-based farming High-Security Routers and AI-based cyber Threat Detection systems; automated guided Vehicles; Ambupod – Smart Ambulance Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality Mix Reality in education and Skills Development Sewage Monitoring Systems; Smart-Agri Programme and Health Diagnostics, among others.

5G technology can provide many advantages to everyday people. It will provide seamless coverage, high data rates as well as low latency and extremely reliable communications.

It will also improve the efficiency of energy as well as spectrum efficiency and efficiency of networks. 5G technology will aid to connect millions of Internet of Things devices, will permit higher quality video services, with mobility with high speed, as well as providing critical services like telesurgery, and autonomous cars among other things.

5G will aid in monitoring disasters in real-time precision agriculture, as well as reducing the need for humans to operate in hazardous industrial activities like deep mines and offshore activities, for example.

Contrary to the existing mobile communication networks 5G networks will permit flexibility in the requirements of all of these diverse scenarios in the network
