Applications are invited from eligible candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for contractual engagement against the following posts of Support Staff in the Legal Aid Defence Counsel (LADC) Offices established in all 20 districts of the UT of J&K. The engagement shall be purely on contractual basis for an initial period of one year only, which may be extended by another one year based solely on performance, availability of funds and in strict conformity with the directions issued by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA);

1) Office Assistant/Clerk:
No. of Posts: 60
Pay: ₹21,500/- in Class A, ₹17,500/- in Class B, ₹13,750/- in Class C

2) Receptionist-cum-Data Entry Operator
No. of Posts: 20
Pay: ₹19,000/- in Class A, ₹16,000/- in Class B, ₹13,500/- in Class C

3) Office Peon (Munshi/Attendants):
No. of Posts: 60
Pay: ₹13,750/- in Class A, ₹11,000/- in Class B & C

Eligibility Criteria:
Below, we have summarized the required eligibility criteria, such as qualification, age limit, experience, etc. Candidates are advised to review the eligibility criteria before applying for any post mentioned in the notification.

Educational Qualifications : For Office Assistant and Receptionist-cum-DEO, the candidate must be a graduate with required typing and communication skills. Office Peon posts require a 10th pass qualification and relevant experience.

Age Limit : The applicant must not be more than 40 years old as on the date of publication of the notice (23.04.2025).

How to Apply:
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to submit the application form in hard copy along with the required documents at the J&K Legal Services Authority offices in Srinagar or Jammu.

Application Fee:
The application fee is ₹200/- and must be paid through a demand draft drawn in favor of the Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority, payable at Srinagar or Jammu.

Important Dates :
The registration process for the J&K Legal Services Authority recruitment begins on 24.04.2025.

Last date to submit the application form is 05.05.2025 up to 4:00 PM.

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of eligibility and performance. The engagement is purely contractual and may be extended based on performance, availability of funds, and NALSA instructions.

Terms & Conditions:

1. The engagement shall be purely on contractual basis, explicitly precluding any claim to regular government employment, and will be subject to engagement initially for a period of one year only, extendable by another one year strictly on the basis of performance and subject to availability of funds and in conformity with NALSA’s instructions.

2. The candidates shall have no claim for regularization and the engagement shall be treated as honorarium-based/retainership and not as salaried appointment;

3. The services of the selected candidates can be terminated at any point of time in case of unsatisfactory performance.
