Eligibility Criteria :
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matric/Std X with a minimum of 50% marks and ITI Examination (Provisional National Trade Certificate acceptable) in the relevant trade with an aggregate of 65% marks.
Age Limit: Candidates must be above 18 years as on 01 June 2026. There is no upper age restriction for Apprenticeship training as per Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) office memorandum No. F.No. MSDE-14(03)/2021 AP-PMU dated 20 Dec 1961.
Reservation: SC/ST and OBC vacancies are reserved as per Sl. 13 of Schedule-IIA (Rule 5) of MSDE Notification dated 16 Jun 2015. 3% of vacancies are reserved for Physically Handicapped candidates as per Para III Chapter II of the Apprentices Act 1961.
Stipend :
Selected candidates under NSRY NAY Apprentice Recruitment 2026 will undergo apprenticeship training and receive stipend as per the Apprenticeship Act 1961 and applicable MSDE government norms.
Employment Note: As per Apprenticeship Act 1961, it shall not be obligatory for Naval Ship Repair Yard, Kochi to employ the Apprentice on completion of training.

As per the NSRY NAY Apprentice Recruitment 2026 advertisement, no application fee has been prescribed for candidates applying for Designated Trade Apprentice posts.

The Admiral Superintendent (for Officer-in-Charge ATS), Apprentices Training School, Naval Ship Repair Yard, Naval Base, Kochi – 682004, so as to reach latest by 03 Apr 2026.
Candidates should carefully fill in personal details, trade preference, educational qualifications, category, and reservation claims. Affix a latest passport-size colour photo (navy blue background, attested by a Gazetted Officer or ITI Principal) and attach all required documents before dispatching by India Post.
Selection Process
The NSRY NAY Designated Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026 selection will be based on shortlisting followed by an Interview and Medical Test.
Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the aggregate percentage of SSC and ITI marks. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview and medical examination.
Interview & Medical Test: Firm dates for interview and medical test will be indicated in the Call-up letter sent to shortlisted candidates. The training will tentatively start in July 2026
How to Apply for NSRY NAY Apprentice Recruitment 2026
- Eligible candidates for NSRY NAY Designated Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026 must submit their application by India Post within the specified last date.
- Step 1 – Download Application Format: Obtain the application format as published in the official advertisement in Employment News (28 Mar – 3 Apr 2026).
- Step 2 – Fill Application Form: Enter trade applied for, personal details, father’s name, date of birth, educational qualifications (SSC/ITI Theory/ITI Practical marks), name of ITI with address, category, and all other required details carefully.
- Step 3 – Affix Photo: Affix latest passport-size colour photo with navy blue background, attested by a Gazetted Officer or ITI Principal, in the space provided on the application form.
- Step 4 – Attach Documents: Attach all required attested copies of documents — SSC Marksheet, ITI Marksheet, Community Certificate (SC/ST/OBC), PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Character Certificate, disability certificate (if applicable), Armed Forces/Ex-serviceman certificate (if applicable), and NCC/Sports certificates (if any).
- Step 5 – Dispatch by India Post: Review all entries and send the completed application form with documents by India Post only to the Apprentice Training School, Naval Ship Repair Yard, Naval Base, Kochi – 682004, so as to reach by 03 Apr 2026.
