Eligibility Criteria :

Educational Qualification :
Candidates must have a BDS (with a minimum of 55% marks in the final year) or an MDS degree from a university or college recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI).
You must have completed a one-year compulsory rotatory internship by 30th June 2025.
It is mandatory to have appeared for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test, NEET (MDS) – 2025, conducted on 19th April 2025.
You must be registered with a State Dental Council / DCI and your registration should be valid at least up to 31st December 2025.
Age Limit :
The candidate must be a citizen of India.
The maximum permissible age for applying is 45 years as of 31st December 2025.
Indian Army Dentist Salary and Benefits :
Joining the Army Dental Corps as an SSC Officer comes with a very attractive salary package and numerous benefits. This is one of the highest-paying government jobs for dentists in India.
Selected candidates are commissioned in the rank of Captain and placed in Pay Level 10B of the Defence Pay Matrix, which corresponds to a basic pay of ₹61,300. But your in-hand salary will be much higher! On top of the basic pay, you will receive:
Military Service Pay (MSP): A fixed amount of ₹15,500 per month.
Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA): 20% of your Basic Pay, as private practice is not allowed.
Dearness Allowance (DA): This is revised twice a year and is a percentage of your (Basic Pay + MSP + NPA).
House Rent Allowance (HRA): If you are not provided government accommodation, you get HRA based on the city you are posted in (X, Y, or Z class cities).
Transport Allowance (TPTA): This is ₹7,200 + DA for higher TPTA cities and ₹3,600 + DA for other cities.
Other Allowances: You are also eligible for Field Area Allowance, High Altitude Allowance, and Siachen Allowance when posted in specific areas. A Dress Allowance of ₹20,000 per year is also provided. MDS degree holders get a PG allowance of ₹2,250 per month.
Besides the salary, you get free medical facilities for yourself and your family, canteen facilities (CSD), entitled rations, sports facilities, and access to army mess and clubs.
Army Dental Corps Selection Process 2025 :
The selection process for the Army Dental Corps is a multi-stage procedure designed to select the most suitable candidates.
Stage 1 : Screening for Interview
First, candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks they scored in the NEET (MDS)-2025 examination. For every single vacancy, ten candidates will be called for the interview. So, make sure your NEET score is competitive!
Stage 2 : Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview at New Delhi. A Selection Board will assess your personality, suitability, and merit for the grant of Short Service Commission. The final merit list will be prepared based only on your performance in this interview.
Stage 3 : Medical Examination
Candidates who qualify in the interview will undergo a detailed medical examination conducted by an Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) board. You must be declared medically fit according to the standards of the armed forces to be considered for the commission.
