Indian Army has released the official notification for Havildar (Education) Recruitment 2026 in IT/Cyber, Information Operation, and Linguist categories. This is an excellent opportunity for young graduates to join the Indian Army as a Havildar in the Army Education Corps. The basic pay starts at ₹25,500 per month (Pay Level 4) and can go up to ₹81,100 with increments.
Online registration is open from 13 February 2026 to 01 April 2026 through the Join Indian Army portal. Only unmarried male Indian citizens with a graduation degree (minimum 50% marks) in relevant subjects are eligible to apply. Eligibility Criteria :
Educational Qualification
Minimum qualification is Graduation or Post-Graduation from a recognised university with at least 50% marks in the relevant subjects listed above for each trade. The subject mentioned in brackets must be the Honours subject or must have been studied in all three years of graduation.
Age Limit
- Age: 20 to 25 years as on 01 July 2027
- Date of Birth: Candidates born between 01 July 2002 and 01 July 2007 (both dates inclusive) are eligible
- Gender: Only unmarried male Indian citizens can apply

Salary and Benefits :
Selected candidates will be enrolled as Havildar (Education) in the Army Education Corps. The pay and benefits include:
Basic Pay: ₹25,500 per month (Pay Level 4, up to ₹81,100)
Dearness Allowance (DA): As per government rates
House Rent Allowance (HRA): Based on city of posting
Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹5,200 per month
Free medical facilities, ration, accommodation, and CSD canteen benefits
Initial service period: 24 years, extendable by 2 years or up to 49 years of age
NPS, gratuity, and pension on retirement
Selection Process Explained
Stage 1: Online Common Entrance Examination (CEE)
Computer Based Test at designated centres across India. The exam is objective, multiple-choice, and mouse-click based.

Total Duration : 3 Hours. Minimum 40% marks required in both papers (mandatory to pass both). Priority-I qualification holders get 30 bonus marks in final merit.
Stage 2: Recruitment Rally (PFT / PMT / Medical)
Shortlisted candidates must clear the following Physical Fitness Tests:
1.6 km Run: Maximum time 6 minutes 20 seconds
Pull-ups (Beam): Minimum 6 pull-ups
Zig-Zag Balance: Must pass
9 Feet Ditch: Must pass
PFT marks are not added to the final merit. Medical examination by Army Medical Team follows.
Stage 3: Aptitude Skill Test & Personal Interview
Conducted at AEC Training College & Centre, Pachmarhi (Madhya Pradesh). Minimum 25 out of 50 marks (50%) required in interview to qualify.
Stage 4: Final Merit & Training
Final merit based on Paper-I + Paper-II + Aptitude/Interview marks + Priority bonus (if applicable). Training consists of 19 weeks basic training + 34 weeks advanced military training at AEC Training College & Centre, Pachmarhi (MP), including On-Job Training at various institutions.
