Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

To ensure your application is accepted, you must meet the specific eligibility standards set by the Department of Posts.

Educational Qualification

Essential: A pass in 10th Standard (Matriculation) from a recognized Board or Institute.

Technical Qualification:

Possession of a valid Driving License for Light and Heavy Motor Vehicles.

Knowledge of Motor Mechanism (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in the vehicle).

Experience: Experience of driving Light and Heavy Motor Vehicles for at least three years.

Desirable: Three years of service as a Home Guard or Civil Volunteer.

 

Age Limit (As on 19.01.2026)

Minimum Age: 18 Years

Maximum Age: 27 Years

Age Relaxation:

OBC: Up to 3 Years

SC/ST: Up to 5 Years

Government Servants: Up to 40 Years

Basic Pay: ₹19,900 per month.

Maximum Pay (in this level): ₹63,200.

Selection Process Explained

The selection for Gujarat Post Office Driver Recruitment is merit-based and involves two stages. There is no interview; your skills determine your selection.

Stage 1: Theory Test (Computer Based/Written)

Marks: 80 Marks

Duration: 90 Minutes

Syllabus:

General Knowledge: Current events, History, Geography, Indian Economy, Polity.

General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analytical aptitude, Patterns, Analogies.

Simple Arithmetic: Number systems, Percentages, Profit & Loss, Time & Work.

Motor Mechanism & Traffic Rules: Road sense, Vehicle maintenance, Signals, Motor Vehicles Act.

Stage 2: Practical Test

Marks: 20 Marks

Content:

Paper I (10 Marks): Identification of defects, minor repairs, changing wheels.

Paper II (10 Marks): Heavy Motor Vehicle Driving (Gear change, Steering control, Reversing).

Final Merit List will be prepared based on the total marks secured in both Stage I and Stage II.

Print the Form: Take a printout of the Application Form (Annexure-I), Format of Certificates (if applicable), and other Annexures.

Fill Details: Fill in all details in BLOCK LETTERS using a Black/Blue ballpoint pen. Ensure your name matches your 10th-grade certificate.

Paste Photograph: Paste a recent self-attested passport-size photograph in the designated space.

Attach Documents: Attach self-attested photocopies of:

Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate/10th Marksheet).

Educational Qualification (10th Marksheet/Certificate).

Driving Experience Certificate (Original/Copy as specified).

Valid Driving License (HMV & LMV).

Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) in the prescribed format.
