Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following posts as per details mentioned below in various Departments / Centres of the Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Kashmir.

Appointments shall be governed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations, 2018 (as amended from time to time), applicable Statutory Executive Council norms, and the Statutes, Ordinances, and Rules of the University

Assistant Professor posts : 54

Associate Professor posts : 08

Reservations : Reservation are applied as per the rules of the Government of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Horizontal reservation of four percent (4%) shall apply for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

Essential Qualifications and Experience :

The essential qualifications, experience, academic/research score, and eligibility conditions for various teaching posts shall be strictly as prescribed under the UGC Regulations, 2018 and subsequent amendments.

The essential qualification and experience are shown against each position. However, the desirable qualifications for each position have been mentioned in the Annexure-A to this notification.

The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph D Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Master’s Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET. However, in case both NET and Non- NET subjects are eligible for any faculty position, the scores shall be normalised to arrive at the scoring for shortlisting of candidates as per the UGC norms.

The Ph.D degree from foreign universities should have been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following :

(i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)

(ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or

(iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai). Candidates possessing foreign degrees must produce equivalence certificates from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi
