ADVERTISEMENT FOR TERRITORIAL ARMY RECRUITMENT OF 159 INFANTRY BATTALION (TERRITORIAL ARMY) (HOME & HEARTH) DOGRA
159 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home & Hearth) DOGRA will be organising recruitment rally at Chinchora, Doda (Jammu and Kashmir) from 07 December 2025 to 18 December 2025.
Eligible candidates volunteer to join the Territorial Army may report for screening at 0700 Hr as per given schedule.
Entry from main Gate will open at 0700 Hr and close at 0900 Hr strictly.
Document checking, screening and medical test of candidates screened in the rally will be held at the venue.
3. Vacancies for Recruitment
Soldier (General Duty): 166
4. Eligibility Criteria
4.1. Age: 18 to 42 years as on date of recruitment.
4.2. Educational Qualification (Soldier General Duty):
Class 10th/Matric pass with 45% marks aggregate and 33% in each subject.
For boards following grading system — minimum D Grade (33–40) in individual subjects or C2 Grade or equivalent, corresponding to 45% in aggregate.
4.3. Tattoos: Persons with tattoos, visible in physical training dress, are not eligible.
4.4. Domicile Certificate: As applicable.
4.5. Physical Standards
- Height: 160 cms
- Weight: Proportionate to height & age as per Army Medical Standard
- Chest: 82 cms (77 cms unexpanded)
4.6. Relaxation in Physical Standards
- Sons of Servicemen, Ex-Servicemen, War widow & widow of Ex-Servicemen, adopted son/son-in-law of a War Widow (if she has no son):
Height +02 cm | Weight +02 kg | Chest +01 cm - Outstanding Sportsmen (International, National & State level):
Height +03 cm | Weight +03 kg | Chest +03 cm
5. Physical Fitness Test
Includes:
- 1 Mile Run
- Pull Ups
- Zigzag Balance
- 9 Feet Ditch
6. Medical Inspection
Candidates must be medically fit.
Shortlisted candidates shall undergo a medical inspection.
7. Written Examination
7.1. Qualified candidates in physical & medical exams will appear for a bilingual (English & Hindi) written test.
7.2. Negative marking system:
- Each Correct Answer: +2 Marks
- Each Incorrect Answer: -1 Mark
- Unattempted Question: 0 Mark
8. Screening/ Aptitude Test
Conducted separately for Soldier General Duty.

10. Note
- 10.1. Detailed instructions are in Employment News of 01 Nov 2025.
- 10.2. Territorial Army is voluntary with part-time commitment only, not a permanent job.
- 10.3. Initial enrolment period – 7 years only, extendable as per requirements.
- 10.4. Authorities not responsible for any accident/injury during rally.
- 10.5. Drug test will be conducted for written test qualifiers.
