Introduction :

The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has received indents for filling vacancies in the Jal Shakti Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir through Direct Recruitment. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for participation in the selection process.

Terms and Conditions :

1. Appointment

Appointments and service conditions shall be governed by the extant rules and regulations of the Government of UT of J&K.

2. Domicile

Applicants must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued on or before 14.05.2026.

3. Vacancies

The number of posts is tentative and may increase or decrease. JKSSB shall not be liable for such variations. The advertisement is subject to the outcome of any pending court cases.

 

4. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

Open Merit (OM): Max 40 years

SC/ST-1/ST-2/RBA/ALC-IB/EWS/OBC: Max 43 years

PwBD: Max 42 years

Ex-Servicemen: Max 48 years

5. Educational Qualification

Qualifications are prescribed in Annexure-A.

Candidates must possess the required qualification on or before the cut-off date.

Equivalence certificates must be produced where applicable.

6. Reservation

Reservation shall be applicable as per J&K Reservation Act/Rules. Reserved category candidates must possess valid certificates in the prescribed format as on the cut-off date.

7. Horizontal Reservation

Applicable for Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as per rules.

8. Application Fee

General Category: Rs. 600/-

SC/ST-1/ST-2/EWS/PwBD: Rs. 500/-

Fee is payable online only and is non-refundable.

10. Scheme of Examination

Objective type multiple-choice questions

Questions in English only

Negative marking: 1/4th mark per wrong answer

11. Syllabus

12. Admission to Examination

Admission is provisional. Eligibility will be verified at the document verification stage.

13. Scribe and Compensatory Time (PwBD)

Eligible PwBD candidates may avail scribe/compensatory time subject to conditions specified in Annexure-B and Annexure-C.

14. Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates must appear for DV with original documents and self-attested copies.

15. Misconduct / Malpractice

Use of electronic devices or any form of misconduct will lead to cancellation and debarment.

16. Fairness & Transparency

JKSSB reserves the right to take necessary measures to ensure transparency and integrity in the examination process.

17. Important Instructions

Candidates must carefully read all instructions, ensure correctness of details, upload required documents, and submit applications well before the closing date.

19. In-Service Candidates

Must submit applications through proper channel along with required certification.

20. Finality of Board’s Decision
